Must have a totally waterproof band (preferably SS, nylon or rubber, with an extension)
...Methinks that a metal band that fails (or a rubber one) and/or a springbar may well signify the end of the watch for lack of redundancy/security. OTOH, a strap such as Divertec's and Maratac's is IMHO inherently safer in that aspect, and the 4-ring variations even more so. If one factors in the option of fixed bars, the straps are absolute.
Must have a high contrasting, none cluttered dial (like the Marathon SAR)
There's no disputing that assertion, but what exactly is the benchmark for "clutter?" Say for instance, are the Citizen 'Zillas dials cluttered?
