I ran in to the same thing, I have a 5mm thick leather band with yellow stitching. I thought about trying some leather softener but I thought it might mess up the color on the stitching. What I ended up doing may sound kinda cavemanish but I just twisted and rolled the thing untill it was finaly good to go. It took me about a week, while I sat watching TV I had that thing in my hand twistin and rollin. Good luck.. Marc
