I was hoping that they were not chinese movements....Now that is something...German Company touting being produced in Germany using Chinese movements! Thanks for your help! Tim. |

The movements are not that bad Tim. They have improved allot over the past 3 or 4 years. I have about a half dozen watches with the Chinese movements in them. |

You'll note that many "German" companies market watches that they imply are German, but you will not see "Made in Germany" anywhere on them. Of course, legitimate German manufacturers like Junkers, Graf Zeppelin, and many others are truly German made. As Skip mentioned, those 35-jewel Chinese autos are really nice movements in their own rite.  |

Yes, I have three German made watches, a Junker with Swiss ETA movement, a Reidenchild with a modified Swiss ETA movement(Geomatic Movement) and now the Jevelle retrograde with a 35 jewel movement; come to think about it, it does not say made in Germany; it has Dusseldorf Germany on the dial of the watch. Funny thing though, it came in a TRIAS watch box? Oh yea, my S.U.G. Gravity has a 35 Jewel movement which is Chinese; I don't have anything against Chinese movements, I was just hoping for a German movement in a German Watch. Yes, most of the "quasi-German" brands will go to great lengths to make it look like their watches are German ("Dusseldorf"), but no "Made in Germany." |

The "Gematic" is a modified Asian chronograph movement; not Swiss. Nothing wrong with that, just not Swiss. Javelle is owned/made by Elysee. It is their 'internet' brand. Most movements are from the Seagull factory, or equivalent. I am confused about one thing, my Riedenschild, the Blue Pearl 2nd Edition, is engraved on the rotor as being CAL. 0988. The instruction manual that came with the watch states that this Cal. movement is an original Swiss Made movement ETA 2824-2. Is this not a modified Swiss Eta 2824? Tim. |

ahh. My error. I'm used to the Gematic that was in the chronographs; not the ones in the autos. I do believe you are correct; but; I never stocked the blue pearl II so I can't say with 100% certainty; but generally markings are fairly accurate, especially with claims such as that. |

Hi all, I've recetly got Javelle with automatic movement 35 jews and very impressed by it. It works very good ($180 from http://www.ForsaleAll.com). My question is: when I was browsing on ebay exactly same watch on the bottom of the dial says "Dusseldorf Germany" which I got and some says "Automatic Germany". I know that in both versions chinese movements. Which one have Shanghai movement and which one has Hong Kong movement. Just wanted to know which one I have that's all.
