For me, and most women who have more than 2 watches, we tend to make our choice-of-the-day by:  matching it to the outfit we're wearing and time of year. . . (summer = light colors; winter = dark).

It seems that all of you have tons of watches.  Because of that, I have always wondered:  How in the heck do you decide which to wear each day with so many choices available?  It boggles the mind.

Thanks a lot.   happy1.gif

Well Toni I have my main go to watches that I wear more often and just rotate the wear and now and then just walk in open the watch boxes and pull something else out. I put on the watch and then decide what cloths to wear. LOL :D

I choose my watch based on what I'm wearing and also, who I'm seeing (clients, family, friends), what I'm doing and where I'm going.

I don't have a hugh collection and most of my watches have black dials so, it's pretty simple for me.

I like to coordinate my watch for the day with my outfit and it takes me hours sometimes trying on each watch and looking in the mirror posing to see which watch looks best!!!.....NOT...just kiddingsubtlelaugh.gif

I have two main watch boxes of 10 watches each, and in the morning before I dash off to the office I just pick whatever I feel like that day.  It gets embarassing when I pick one, set the time, and then change my mind and pick another one.  Oh, this WIS disease!  I should have better things to do with my time.

It depends some days it is based on my activities for the day, seeing customers, working at home, etc. Some days its just what I'm in the mood for.

Let's see. I have watches with a red bezel, green bezel, blue bezel, and two tone bezels. I have yellow straps, black straps with orange stitching, some with orange dials, some with bright white dials, etc. The list goes on. :)

Sometimes I choose a watch based on where I'm going and who I'm gonna be with. :D  Sometimes it is based on what I'm wearing just like you or my wife. Then there are times I wear a watch just to wear it. 'cause it hasn't been worn in some time.

Most of my watches are of neutral decor so I don't need to match what I'm wearing.
I currently own only eight watches so I just pick whichever is my current favorite and go with that.

This outfit would be a little more dressier, maybe a Tank or perhaps a quartz day date. Something with a bit of gold or ROSE gold if you dare!!

I look through the boxes...and pick one that I want to wear...no rhyme or reason...the only thing that influences a decision is golf...I want a metal bracelet for that (in the summer) because of persperation!

Depends on what the day is going to bring. do i need something I am going to submerge? Do I wanna hear the tick-tock of a hand cranker? How much do I wanna sweat stain a strap?

And I will admit it... 99% of the time my shirt will match a color element on the watch...

Orange pants?  Do you have a big red nose and big floppy shoes too?  Do you work for Ringling Bros. by chance?

I find that I get hooked on a watch for a week or so and then I switch.  That's for daily wear. For special occasions or events I usually pick based on what is happening there.  Good question; very thought provoking.

Same here - gotta match SOMEthing I am wearing or the fashion police (office staff) would be horrified.

Compared to some 3Ters, I have a small collection of about 40 watches all up - and a small but increasing number of straps I change out for something a bit different from tiem to time. Not all of my watches are expensive, either!

I choose and wear based on mood and pre-planned daily activities. I have to admit that when big contracts are signed, I wear my best. Diver watches which catch the french cuffs of a shirt sleeve are usually left in the box during the working week in favor of something more dressy. And I wouldnt wear a yellow faced watch with pink cufflinks! But hey - I am a jeans and sweatshirt kinda guy after office hours, so then it is "anything goes".

I did notice the other day though when wearing black pants and a black turtleneck sweater that my JAO PVD watch on natural leather with a PVD buckle was lookin pretty good. Otherwise, there's not much can go wrong with an SS watch and bracelet and ANY outfit...  and red matches the color of my eyes after a hard day at the office~

I have gone to the dark side and turned all metrosexual!!! Please let GQ know my PM subtlelaugh.gif

Cheers - good Q.

I work in a bank, so it's black suit or brown suit, and the watch usually matches it. I typically wear my OM on Fridays, as they are casual. I only have 4 or 5 watches I wear at work, so it's not too difficult to coordinate w/ the suit.

Like most of you, I try to pick a watch that goes with what I'm wearing.  Casual outfits attract big sport watches, etc.  My go-to sports watch is probably a Rolex Sub.  More dressy outfits get a thinner and more elegant look.  A vintage Omega Constellation on a black strap, for example.

On the weekends, cottaging, etc - it's usually good to go with something rugged and durable... often an auto Invicta dive watch, or an auto swatch ... sometimes a quartz diver or chronograph (Chase-Durer or an ESQ)...  I have also been known to strap on a digital Nike or even a G-Shock.

Other than that, I try to have my watches make a statement.  When you want your wrist to stand-out, you go with something big, colourful or even showy.  When you want to blend in, you strap on something more understated.

Great question toni!

Well....the first thing I do is look at all of them and ask myself "what do I feel like today"  I think I end up doing what everyone else has mentioned, sometimes I get hooked on one watch for a week or so, sometimes I coordinate with what I'm wearing, sometimes it depends on the event I'm attending or the work I'm doing, sometimes I pick the watch that's been worn the least and sometimes the newest....I don't think I have a set routine to decide it just calls out to me and I wear itThumbsUp02.gif

I didn't think it could ever happen to me, but...I just changed the shirt I'm wearing tomorrow so it won't "clash" with my watch!  Yikes!!!  I'm so embarrassed.  I set out a mostly red plaid shirt for tomorrow but then realized I wanted to wear my orange Doxa.  Good-bye red shirt!

This is a pretty good question, because my wife makes fun of me when I say 'Does this watch look alright with these clothe?' or vice versa. Yes I've changed my shirt because it didn't fit right with the watch I was wearing. I think the biggest thing for me is what kind of image am I trying to project? I then arrange watch and clothing to suit. Mood can also play a part in this.

It is all about color/style vs mood for me. My mood (or better stated, my mode) will usually dictate what color/style to go with. Serious business=my black Omega, or my black Oris, while fun, active, and playful=my yellow Reef Ranger or orange Enzo V001. But when I just want to make a statement, I wear my big, bad-ass Formex AS6500!

Heh, I pick a watch to fit my outfit half the time.  The other half, I decide what watch I really want to wear, and I select my outfit to match that.

And please don't even ask me about my shoes. :P
