Here are a few that are what some of us would call beaters. But not bad watches.

I had this one and I litterly beat the heck out of it for about 2 years till it quit working this last Spring.

Here is another option that I have thought about snaging just to have another beater of this style. 2 options.

You could also try a germasian(german brand chinese origins) brand like Trias, but you cannot go wrong with the Seiko or Citizen

I like it but the dial is just to over the top I was thinking something that looks like a IWC with out spending $5,000 to $10,000 dollars.

Looking for a classic flieger dial? I'm sure you must have something in mind as their are numerous choices for the style but your price range really limits your choices.

Here's the Seiko flieger. Available in a variety of colors.

I would look for a used Zeno, or a great deal on a new one.

I'd go for one of the Citizen Eco Drive watches like Skipdawg recommended.  Nice grab and go quartz movement, never need a battery.  A nice carefree watch, IMO.

Don't know the seller, don't know the watch. Just an example....

So, that's a  flieger dial? I have a watch with that dial, like it, but never knew what it was called.

I learn something every day here.

I like the loks of that Seiko pictured above.
