SIHH 2009 With Ralph Lauren And The FH In 2009, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) will open for the first time in winter, from Monday January 19th to Friday January 23rd, ending a day earlier as it welcomes its last visitors on Friday rather than Saturday. This edition also brings new features: Ralph Lauren Watch and Jewelry Co, a recent joint venture between the Richemont group and Polo Ralph Lauren, will join the brands exhibiting at the SIHH and unveil its first collection of haute horlogerie timepieces; part of the hall will be set aside for a cultural area, presenting the work of the Fondation de la haute horlogerie; the Federation of the Swiss watch industry (FH) will be present for the first time with the latest version of its exhibition, "Think Time - Think Swiss Excellence", never previously shown in Switzerland. This 19th SIHH will provide an exclusive and prestigious setting where visitors will enjoy a first-class welcome and services throughout the day, and later the opportunity to unwind at the invitation-only "After Dinner" evenings, always an eagerly-anticipated highlight of this special week. The SIHH is organised by the Fondation de la haute horlogerie as part of its events wing, on behalf of the Exhibitor Committee which has full decision-making powers for the positioning and strategy of the SIHH. The brands presenting their new models in 2009 are: A. Lange & Söhne, Alfred Dunhill, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, Girard-Perregaux, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, JeanRichard, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels. Hello 'avery Curious if you know anything else other than this article about Ralph Lauren joint venture? Was curious if these watches will have a decent motor at a decent price point or if they are just Trend Watches to come? Thanks Huck |

Knowing the history of the Richemont group they will be quality pieces at a designer price. Since they are going to be sold only in the RL boutiques, some of which I am familiar with, that only drives the belief that they will be at standard designer markup. As far as details the I have not seen any specific info released by either Co. as of late, but I may try to go to the show, given it is Jan 19-23 and I have that time available. |
