I'm close to making a watch trade on WUS and I'd like to poll the experts here on how to close the deal. 1. Aside from the number posts made, how do you determine whether you are dealing with a quality WIS? 2. How do you ask for and/or check references? 3. Once you agree on the trade, what is the standard procedure for the watch transfer? 4. Do you typically agree on an "out clause" where if you're not satisfied with the watches you can call the deal off and return watches to their original owners? 5. Other...what am I missing? I don't know this fellow, but he's been around for a bit and has a decent post count (and he claims to have good references). Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Erik

Erik You already have the basics covered, I have traded alot of watches on WUS with guys with a big post count and with guys with a couple, I have never had a problem. Never trade an amount that you cant afford to lose, say like a Rolex or a Breitling, If its under 1000.00 dollars trade value, I dont personally see an Issue. Search his activity under his name and get a feel for him and do the deal. Tradesies if your not happy and hes not happy, that seems silly. If you think you wont be happy dont do it. If its not as described and its all beat up etc... then you have a point there. I say go for it. Cheers If your talkin about the Glycine Luganare on WUS Id say your okay.

On addition to what you have already listed, if I don't know the guy, I ask for some references of other posters that I may know.

Rule #1/No trades with anyone you don't know either personally on the boards or you know his reputation ....or at the very least someone you do know tells you he is OK to trade withhand6.gif

I go back and read all their posts, check all the feedbacks...well most of them. Get the refferals. Contact a number that you feel comfortable with. I have traded on high dollar value watches....and you always have apprehension.....but the steps we take or you will take will help with the butterflies.

Thanks for the feedback fellows. It appears that the deal is falling apart, but I'll go forward as a wiser man thanks to your kind advice.
