They are Asian clones to the swiss movements. Used in allot of fake brand watches as well as some homage and lover priced Asian made watches. The Chrono 21J is basically one of the China 7750 clones and the Asian 2813 a clone to the eta 2824 I believe. These movements are hit or miss. Some keep very good time some don't and some don't work at all. But are cloned reproductions of Swiss movements. |

Some very good movements are being produced in Asia now. The Seagull chrono movement is actually fantastic! I have a Precista chrono from Time Factors, and got the optional transparent caseback. The movement is stunning and keeps great time. I also have a number of beaters with Asian movements. In spite of abuse, they just keep going. Different story if they try to be Swiss, I guess! May each one of those movements be forever cursed! |

The original Valjoux 7750 movement is Swiss. There are some Asian knock offs of this movement with various degrees of success. |

pics are blocked at work so I can't see the pics you posted. I agree that the Sea-Gull movements are some of the best. I absolutely love my Sea-Gull M177s with ST16 movement. It is worthy to note that when you buy a Sea-Gull movement (or any Chinese movement) that there are different grades and/or levels of QC. Movements culled at the factory or during casing often make their way into very cheap internet/ebay watches. Sea-Gull uses their best movements in their watches. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is my Sea-Gull 1963 re-issue with ST19. Sea-Gull purchased the Venus 175 tooling in the early 1960's and made the original to this watch. Now Sea-Gull makes 7 variants of this movement with additional subdials of 12/24 hr hands (non-chrono), PR hand and one with a real moonphase. (BTW, Invicta calls this their Technica Swiss Ebauche 1902 Mechanical Chronograph The 2813 is a Dixmont-Guangzhou DG2813. It is a handwinding/hacking Miyota clone and is a drop-in replacement for the Miyota 82XX. I have a few and they run/work just fine, IMHO. I have one in my Timex auto. Here is one in my Croton Sub. (BTW, Croton calls this their CR8315 calibre. You often see it listed as a special Miyota made especially for Croton with the hacking added. DG crown symbol under the balance As far as the 7750 auto chrono goes, I believe they are made by Shanghai and Liaoning. http://www.tractionink.com/watch_wiki/index.php?title=Mechanical_chronograph I have both and haven't had a problem with either. Here is my Ticino auto chrono with Liaoning. The last time I checked it I wore it for 12 days and it gained 10 seconds TOTAL. So ~ +1 sec/day for almost 2 weeks. I also have an unveiled Prometheus auto chrono with Shanghai 3LZF2 which is a VERY nice & chunky watch. Significantly heavier than my Orange Monster on bracelet. ![]() Cheers, gigfy |

Great pics and informative writeup! I am still looking for a decent 7750 Asian clone for my chrono collection. What would you recommend? |
