Im looking to add another watch to my Dive collection, there's a ton of watches that im looking at but for now i narrowed it down to these 3, which would you get? or which appeal to you the most? thanks! Seiko Prospex Diver 200M (pepsi) Deep Blue 1000M (blue or black) Artego 300M (black) ![]() Last edited on Wed Jun 2nd, 2010 02:33 pm by FrankA6 |

I have had my Master Diver for a year. It is my "designated stunt watch". It also has a Miyota movement like the Sea Diver and it hasn't failed me yet. I also have the DayNight OPS and PVD Master 2000. |

Right now if it was me I would buy the Artego, I've heard a lot of great things about them |

It would have to be an automatic for me, I like the look of the Artigo. |

I'm not so into Asian watches but I would choose an auto in front of a Kinetic. Mech is more reliable in long term than mvts using batteries... The Big Blue looks a bit like an Oris TT1... Maybe too much for me. |

Artego is great but I lean to the Deep Blue, more character in my opinion. I am lucky enough to have one of each, not that DB model but love it more. Depp blue for me with the helium release valve, day and date...deeper WR. DB is cheaper also I think...I really want one but I already have the Ocean master and it would conflict if I bought another at this time. I would choose my DB over the Artego if you made me choose although I love both. ![]() ![]() Good luck in your choice Last edited on Wed Jun 2nd, 2010 05:47 pm by ndburley |

I've owned all 3 and the only one that became a keeper was the Artego... |

Well if i get the Artego its definitely going on a mesh divers bracelet, i do like the fact that the deep blue is a 1000m, even tho i wont need anything that extreme. And im a BIG Seiko fan, But Iam leaning towards the Artego.......anyone have real pics of the blue face? and thanks for the input guys! |

I'm with everyone else and would go for the mechanical watch over "Kinetic". I'm not a huge DB fan (I think they have just too big a freakin' logo on the dial) and I own an Artego so I would go with the Artego. It really is built like a tank and has a really lovely dial. |

Frank I think the Artego just rocks, the case is way cooler and more unique and their dials pop! Lume is top notch too and it rocks on mesh! |

Gentlemen - seems to me that the choice is about case styles, dial and hand combos and movements as well! No doubt the Seiko is a good 'un - but the skeleton hands are not for me. However, if you like Pepsi's - then its a good, reliable and relatively inexpensive alternative. If it was between the Artego and the DB, I am with Pax on the logo thing. Artego wins. Build quality - all are top notch, from what I have seen, read and heard. Depth ratings - neither here nor there for me, cos I only dive at my desk... But that Artego has a very nice looking semi-hooded drilled-thru lug, and would look the duck's guts with any strap or bracelet, including mesh. Oscar's blue Artego is a good indicator of the quality of these. Good luck with your choice, mate! Ours are only personal comments and the choice is ultimately yours. Spoil your wrist! Buy all three! By way of elimination for me, anyway, definitely the Artego. Buy one - you'll see what the hype is all about...... |

My vote goes to the Artego. It just looks better than the 2 others. I'd never buy a kinetic so the Seiko is out. |

I must say the Artego has amazing lume and I think you will not be disapointed with either the Artego or the Deep Blue but if the Seiko calls to you more then dont listen to us as you are the one that will be wearing it, hope you post plenty of pictures when you do choose. All the best. Neo |

i have the deep blue..and although i love it, i have some nags about it (that i live with cause its my beater). -the whole thing is brushed...EXCEPT for the lug screw and the helium valve, they are polished. (the valve doesnt bother me, but the shiny lug screw does) ..i could fix the screw with a green scotch guard scrubbie...but i dont feel like taking it apart. - my day and date wheel are not the same color white..not even close...and that really...REALLY bugs me. the day wheel is more gray/yellow and my date wheel is bright white. -in 2 places the lume isnt applied to the dial cleanly, it overflows onto the marker lines (this is nit-picking, because you cant see it unless you are staring at it 3 inches from your face...but it is a concern). that being said....id still buy the deep blue again, over an artego......i know im in the minority, but the artego doesnt speak to me in any way, at all. i got the deep blue new, direct from them, when they were sub 230$. for that price i dont complain about it. |

Imho these are items which never should have made it through a simple QC inspection. The dya/date discoloration would make me nuts and if you can see poorly applied lume without a loupe that's just piss poor. I'm always amazed how the big guys (Seiko, Citizen) can churn out sub $300 watches which are impeccable in fit and finish. I guess it it was easy everyone would do it! |

While I don't have that particular Seiko Kinetic, I do own about 8 of them. They're solid, reliable and, since they generate their own power with your wrist movement, they overcome my biggest complaint about quartzies - unpredictable battery life. So if that's what sings to you, go for it. I also own the Deep Blue Sea Diver you're looking at. While it's not my all-time fave, it's in the top 10. Reliable and comfortable to wear - the short lugs give it enough contour to hug your wrist. My experience with customer service (needed a couple of extra links for the bracelet) was top notch. The lume appears to be applied evenly and inside the lines, too. I don't own an Artego. It's a nice looking watch, but the flat case bottom and bracelet attachment as shown in Oscar's picture make it look like it's teetering on his wrist. I have to wonder how comfortable it would be for long term wear. But it's all subjective and in the end, the watch you like is the watch you should buy. Good Luck, and enjoy whichever you choose. |
