Hey Fellas, I just saw the above watch yesterday at a local AD. I really like it with the only exception of it being a non screw down crown. All my watches get wet, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and showers. Everything else is just fine including the soviet auto movement ( kinda cool ). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Rod in Va. |

Absolutely keeps perfect time with no moisture at all. Generally for Seiko, they underpromise but overdeliver and I've seen this happen on WR and even accuracy statements. Can't make a call on the Russian movement (Neo or NDBurley is our defacto Russian guru  and if you PM him, he will reply) as I don't have a single Russian.Hope this helps. |

We had a thread on this with Mark's Lum Tec (paxman) it was a Slava 2427 if I remember correctly. Not an expensive movement but reliable and solid. Rare as they did not make a lot of automatics and the production period was thin. I think it was a complication added to the Slava 2414. I am not totally sure but I think Lum Tec have done the mod themselves to the 2427, might be worth asking as Slava stopped producing this movement ages ago. anyway have a look for a post started by Paxman on his lum tec  Last edited on Wed Sep 22nd, 2010 03:49 pm by ndburley |

if you like russian movements check out Vostok, Slava, Poljot, and Zim. Vostok and Poljot are still going strong....I say Poljot but it is Volmax now. In my opinion some of the Volmax watches are great designs but out of their league with prices on some models. You might as well go Swiss at a price range but Vostok are down to earth and the money you pay is great for what you get. Not to be confused with Vostok Europe. They are good watches but not made in Russia...hard to get parts for also. have a look for the Vostok 1967 you may like.
