I frequent this watch portal"The Trusted Watch"  often as they have some great articles and intros to some of the worlds best watches...recently this appeared and I had to laugh and share it....even in Germany/Bavaria they knows BS when they hear it! subtlelaugh.gif
Quartz or mechanic? The watch language of the home-shopping stations
Watch purchase via telephone(04/2010) „Cheap offers, attractive novelties, bargains, premiers, and special offers…“, this and similar ads can be heard on renowned home-shopping stations. And of course you can also „buy watches conveniently and safe“. Too bad only that most of the watch brands offered there are hardly known to viewers, jewellers and special dealers.
In order be able to position the watches among the television viewers anyway, the moderators(hosts) mostly use a watch language characterized by superlatives that is characterized by ignorance. And this ignorance then also causes one or the other moderators – whether consciously or unconsciously – not only to blabber the typical „marketing talk“ typical for these stations, but simply wants sell a quartz clockwork as a high quality mechanical work. Following the motto: Sales at all costs!
Of course, we do not want to keep the Top 10 of the typical phrases from you, as these elaborations do best describe the „value“ of these watches and „pseudo luxury watches“ affordable by everybody:
1. I will not tell names, look at the watch magazines „Great watch brands“ for a corresponding price.
2. We are glad that we are able to offer you this watch for this price.
3. Only 4 left of this wonderful timekeeper. Call now.
4. Every watchmaker would enjoy this watch.
5. Artfully produced timekeepers.
6. With all papers and certificate.
7. Such a  fantastically made watch.
8. The time packaged beautiful here.
9. People will think you won the lotto.
10. The package of this noble watch is simply unique.

They left out "value pays", one-time price - never to be offered again at this price, and many others.

Yes, In deed. I couldn't watch Eyal and D.J. the other night waxing on about a new dive watch with a mother of plastic dial. They are quite a team. It is even hard to watch with the sound off.
