Guys, your thaughts would be much appreciated on this on, as I just can`t seem to make up my mind on what to get myself as a b-day present ...

Of these, who would you pick, and why ?
All of them appele to my, in different ways, and all are over 44mm and have the ETA 2824 (2893)and have good lume. So things as build quality, and what comes with the watch play a role here. Of course build quality beeing the most important. And what you get for your hard earned money. And even more interesting, if there are any one you would NOT get.

Don A LOT of review checking and searches all over the web, and all of these seem to fit the bill, but now need 2. opinions.

So if anyone has any thoughts about this, please sharetoon1.gif

The contenders are: (all in dollars, couldn`t find the dollar "button"mistake.gif)

Magellan Irreantum at 545,-
Helson Sharkmaster at 899,-
Steinhart Triton DLC at 750,-
Dievas Vortex at 880,-
Benarus worldiver at 900,-
Zixen vintage diver DSR at 995,-
Boschett Cawe Dweller at 640,-

And, not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but it is regarding a "new arrival" per say, at least a new arrival to be. But if I messed up, please give a word, and I will gladly move it.

Rolf

All very good choices. My explanations below.

I'd go with the Dievas. Just my humble opinion.

Thoughts, not thaughts, btw

The Vortex's case is in aerospace grade titanium, executed by Fricker in Germany: Here, for the case, you get much more for the money compare to others.
Don't know where the Steinhart cases are made: They don't have to be made in Switzerland for having the Swiss-Made stamp on the dial but they may be. Anyway they are in S-Steel and them DLC seems to be a good PVD, nothing else.
It don't seems to be close to the DLC used by Dievas on the AGV:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKt8LN8lHLw

Vortex's titanium case is therefor lighter and stronger than S-steel...Will resist better on scratches/dings.
It's guaranteed to 500m at list: Dievas allways underate them water tighteness for quality/security reasons.
The 2824-2 is also adjusted...
Honnestly, for me, the Vortex win.
Read the specs on them site: It's impressively much watch for the buks.

Thx Will and Wrath of Kwon, for both spell check and watch insight, hehethankyou.gif
And, so far agree with both of you on the Vortex. Love the design, the easy-to-read dial, lume etc etc. But the other ones are not so crappy either, and therein lies the issue at hand, so to speak. And also, the Vortex is one of the more expensive of the listed. But, ever som nice.
Just interesting to hear what you fellow WIS think, so appreciate it.

No problem Rolf! Yes, I agree and the other watches are also very cool.
If one should buy the right thing, one should not stop for 2-300 buks difference anyway.
Some watches are selling for over 2000$ and don't surpass the specs of the Vortex.
Question is: Among your choosen watches that you all like, wich one will give you the highest satisfaction compare to the money invested?
That's where I would choose the Dievas.

As allways Will, I can trust you to keep it straight ... And, yes, that is the REAL question. And of course, can`t disagree on spending the extra 2-300 bucks either, nothing compared to the feeling on gets when un-wrapping a new wrist hugger.

Well, you deffinatly make a good argumente there, hehe. It looks F.....g GREAT!, and the james bond strap would be my choice also (all though a zulu and not the nato)
As it`s an adjusted mvt, what +/- do you get out of it? And, as I see you wear yours on the wright, as I do, is the crown a problem at all?
Thanks btw.

Rolf no problem w/ the crown............I think it keeps EXCELLENT TIME  but I'm not sure until the next time I wear it, I set all my watches to the atomic clock while I'm wearing them ,then when I wear it  again I check it , but NOT ALL THE TIMEsubtlelaugh.gif

I'll go against the grain and recommend the blue dial Sharkmaster on blue Isofrane.

Before I was aware of the Vortex, this would have been my choice. I´m a BIG fan of the Omega ploprof 600 where this has its roots. But the pure specs on the vortex is nothing but impressive, and you get a lot of bang for the buck there. And was just told by my wife that she would by me the vortex, or any other in the list, for my birthday, so pretty happy with thatthumbsup.gif
So now I´m having a bit of a problem deciding between the sharkmaster or the vortex, or even the triton. but either one would be a good choice I guess.
But thanks clouser, for your opinion. Didn`t make the decision any easier now, hehe.

Ok..I will throw in my .02!

I have the worlddiver GMT and I love it. It is a very solid watch and has been running +/- 5 seconds with heavy use. I have it on the mesch bracelet and it is the most comfortable watch I wear. Don't overlook it.

I also own several Steinharts and have been very happy with them...and the c/s. They are not divers so I cannot comment directly.

Good luck on your choice!

RB
