SS, White Face, subsidiary dial sweep second, SN 2981391

I have a Mido watch, Multifort, Powerwind as described above, and would like to know if anyone has any idea what model number it is, when it was manufactured, or any information at all. This was my father's watch which he bought new I think sometime in the 50's. Still running just fine. I have another one identical to it which I bought I think in the early 60's. Thanks in advance for any info.

"As described above"

There seems to be something missing.

I see the info now listed in the subject of the thread. I am going to copy it into your post for the convenience of our members. Really a picture would be helpful too.

I have also moved your post to the appropriate area.

Sorry about that, I'm new to this site. The watch is a Mido Multifort Powerwind.

1 1/8" wide, 1 3/8" tip of post to tip of post, screw back, SS, White Face, subsidiary dial sweep second, SN 2981391.

Thanks

Skipdawg, very close, but not quite. Everything looks the same, except right between the hands and the subsidiary dial is the word "Powerwind". Also, at the bottom, the subsidiary dial takes out most of the number 6, leaving only half the bottom of the loop on the 6 visible. Also, below the subsidiary dial are the words "T Swiss Made T".

The hands are luminous, and there are luminous dots at the 1,2,4,5,7,8,10, and 11 positions. The only numbers on the dial are 3,6,9, & 12.

Again, I really appreciate your help.

Got that. Been there, done that. I couldn't find one that looked like the one I have. Some close, but not the same.

Thanks

you went through all 20-30 pages on google?..post a pic of the watch frt and bk so everyone can see what you are talking about.
..the Multifort was a common watch in the 50's and 60's and there may have been many dial variations they used...

Sounds like we are getting close. Here are two from that time frame that come rather close to what you describe.

Skipdawg, you are close again, but not quite there. The second link is for a "Superautomatic" and mine is not. Mine is the "Powerwind" model which I think they started making in 1954. The first link is for one that has numbers all around the dial and is also a "Superautomatic". Mine only has the numbers 3,part of 6, 9, and 12. In the place of 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 are markers shaped like a spear point with the luminous dots on the outboard end next to the crown.

Don't know who James Haury might be, but it's not me.
I would post a picture if I could figure out how. Any hints?

Still not quite the same. I hope you can retrieve the pictures. They are not very good pictures, tried to take them with a cell phone. Maybe I can get better ones later with a real camera.

Thanks for the help

No numbers. Just "Mido Powerwind Antimagnetic Stainless Steel Switzerland Shock Resistant Waterproof"

SN 2981391 stamped on the end where the band attaches.

Thanks once again
