http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=6018060&rid=0 Any background info or comments on this one? I really like this one? I know very little about it but it seems like it was way ahead of it's time with the dial layout that it has. Just thought it was interesting... ![]()

Buy Dr.Millers History of the Doxa book as a reference....it is the best Doxa book out there...this particular Army diver and I quote Dr.Miller:"one watch that definitely shows that it's pedigree is a SUB300T is the Doxa Army watch.Almost nothing is known about this watch and it has only been seen in an advert"...he goes on to say"the hands, dial and bezel bear no resemblance to the traditional sub design, the case and crown are classic vintage sub"...so I would have to say this example for sale is a grail for any Doxa fan. ...further discussion on the Doxa forum reveals the Swiss Army divers were issued between 1969-1979 to Military. ..dive watches from that era were real tool divers,so imo they were on target with their dial designs,I believe dive watches have taken a step back recently because of all the desk divers that have been popping up over the past few years that are mass produced with little thought behind the designs. ![]()

I find this very interesting and the whole Doxa/Jenny company of yesterday and today interesting? Thanks Oscar! I do not have a copy of Dr Millers book but do recall reading about early Doxa watches being almost prototype creations and then used as production models years later. The transparency of the Doxa/Jenny family owned company has been called in to question more then a few times but I have to hand it to them, they have stood the test of time and kept their secrets just that well guarded secrets. I have never pulled the trigger on a true vintage Doxa but this Army model is one I wold love to own.

this is a cool piece imho, but I am not 1 to be putting up big bucks for a vintage dive watch that can't be worn underwater...now if Doxa were to reproduce this Army diver I would be all over it!![]()
