I heard from another Doxa site that they may be re-issuing another Army soon. Nothing confirmed yet, but we can hope! BTW anyone know if they were rated for water use at all? |

I know for sure from a very reliable source they're trying to get the retired Doxa's soldier back to active duty, time will tell I'm pretty sure he will be back in due time with 21st century technology, I just hope they make the lug spacing 22mm. Doxa does listen or read this forum believe it or not. |

There's no power reserve in the Army model so if they would produce it in a limited run as the 1500T or 5000T models, they might use a 2892-2. Usual models are housing the 2824-2 who's a lower grade compare to the 2892-2. I referred to the older PO housing the 2500c who's a 2892-2 so modified that it's nearly a movement on it's own: The cost of this movement(when you can find it) is at list twice the cost of a top grade 2892-2... |

This just goes to show me how much I do not know about these movements. Thanks for the clarification. It appears as though a Doxa is in my near future. What are your thoughts about the 1500T versus the 4000T? Will the 2892-2 really be a noticably inferior movement if I go for the 1500T? I have never had either, so...newbie question. Thanks! Well, I don't own any Doxa or even been seriously interested in buying one on my side but it seems like the usual serials are housing a 2824-2. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this movement called the "Tractor", who's very reliable but not as achieved as the 2892-2. Other Doxa serials housing a 2892-2 would be a preferable choice due to the fact that this movement is of higher or chronometer grade. Those higher grade Doxa models are quite expensive and I personally find them way too expensive for what they offer. The controversy about Doxa Asia and it's Asian Walca factory finally pushed me away from those watches: In fact, if the new Swissness law is enforced, I wonder how Doxa will handle it... Well, I will not dig up some old corpse but you have my personal opinion. Remember to do not buy a watch for the name: Buy it for what it offers you for the price. In my eyes, If you pay about 2000$ , you should have something from a manufacturer who's transparent or clean about his part's origin. On my side, lately, Aquadive attracted my attention because of the transparency about them case fabrication: In Germany. Kazimon had the same effect on me with them 100% inhouse case, 100% German parts and customization possibilities(even with movements). They are achieving what many "Swiss-Made" brands are still not doing due to the actual "Swiss-Made" law percentage that they take advantage of. Owning already a Kazimon 1500, I would go for an Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100S... But it's your choice! |

OK...I'll look into the Aquadive as well. I am just a huge Clive Cussler/Dirk Pitt fan and really wanted an orange faced Doxa for years. I am now in the position to get one (used) on this forum or WUS. They average around $1700 US. I was totally un-aware fo any contoversey about Doxa and will do some research now... |

if you have an itch for a Doxa the only cure is to buy one!....I have 6 Doxas and they are among my favorite watches...the fit & finish and quality is there,and they have awesome wrist presence. I see a new T-Graph with the saph bezel in my future... |

SIX!!!! I am not jealous. No I am not. At all. Nope. I think it is between the 1500T Pro and the 4000T Pro. I like the traditional dial, etc on the 1500 in the 5000 case, but the larger 4000 case really appeals to me. I usually wear larger 46+ watches and I am worried the 1500 may be too small? I like the...simpleness or 'less cluttered' look of the 1500 dial. I am not so sure about the 'safe dive' or the t-graph stuff on the new one. Just seems too cluttered...but maybe I don't know what I like. |
