#2 William. I had that watch with the saphire crystal and regret the day I sold it. Beautiful piece and well built.

Only thing that bugs me about all those watches is the 3 ATM WR. Why can't someone build one that you can really take into the water?crap.gifEvery Swiss army hand cranker is at least 10ATM so should not be that hard?

I love this watch now more than when I bought it. One I doubt I'll ever part with.

I like the dial on #2 better by far but prefer Ti.
If you already have a Ti watch go with #2

Well William...knowing what a PAM freak you are (thumbsup.gif), if you are trying to capture the vibe of the PAM 249 then my pick would be to go for the non-Ti Kampfschwimmer on the right (it's the only one I've seen in person, and I still love mine).

The vintage lume dial, plus the blued hands, and polished case combined with a dial color that I would describe as 'dark chocolate' (really gorgeous...and pics have a hard time doing it justice IMO...I have some older pics of mine that I'll include but I've been meaning to take some more recent ones), gives off a really nice vibe.  In bright sunlight, you will find yourself staring  at the dial and trying not to drool on yourself.excellent.gif

The Ti version California has the brighter white lume, gold toned hands, and it does add that really cool sandwich dial on that great looking satin brushed Ti case...hmmm, maybe you should get both!!! crap.gif ...I have to admit, I've often thought about adding the Ti California version too! chickendance.gif

....heck, I think you've just convinced me that I need to add the Ti to my existing Kampfschwimmer!!!oh my.gifbamby.gif

Anyway...if it is the 249 vibe that you are after, I would go for the polished non-Ti Kampfschwimmer...love mine and have no intent of ever getting rid of it.

excuse the finger print on the dial...

here's mine on a french ammo currently...

That's a tuff one William..I too have looked at these over and over...but my vote would be for the non Ti version on the right...of course you could always just toss a coin..and if that doesn't work in your favour on the first try..then its time to do the best out of threedog smile.gif

Thanks William!!! thankyou.gif...I think it's hard to go wrong here, but the Kampfschwimmer is really a classic looker IMO!!!

The sapphire dome makes this one hard to photograph (and I know that Anders offered this with an Acrylic crystal too in the past), but here are a few more pics on the wrist.

BUMMER William! no.gif

I see one for sale on WUS here: (Note that this one for sale has a solid ss caseback instead of the sapphire view caseback that you typically see on this model).

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-dievas-vintage-kampfschwimmer-compete-set-custom-order-647070.html

...and woh...I see there's also a Black Diamond for sale over there too!!!  Man oh man, if it wasn't for the case dents at 6 o'clock I would be all over that right now!!!!  The Black Diamond continues to be an elusive grail of mine!!!!homerthinks.gif  Maybe you are checking that one out there too???

Mate, sorry to come into this so late.  I have just seen the thread.  I have owned the Cali Ti for about a year now and I have not looked back!  It is a beautifully executed watch.  I, too, was between the two and the only thing that swayed me was that my mate Keelson had the '...swimmer'.  There is no doubting the quality of the watches and, if you can take the hit, I would say that they are sufficiently different to justify buying both of them!

Anyway, here are a couple of crappy shots of my Cali Ti for reference.  Happy shopping!

Cheers.
