I am looking too buy a Rolex, I know little about them, I think I want a submariner or GMT due to the layout and style. I have seen this and its taken my fancy, I like the green of the Milgauss but not the dressy design. What do you guys think?    |

Russell, I think you have chosen a classic style, but for your first Rolex I would stick to the more traditional color scheme. JMHO of course. Good luck on the decision. |

I agree with Tony. It is a little too trendy for my tastes. Might be out-of-style in a couple of years. For a first Rolex, a more conservative choice my be better. |

Russell unless you want a pre-98' Rolex with an aftermarket dial,and bezel like you have pictured, I would suggest looking for a production model imo,if you like the green perhaps a LV like pictured below,or the new green ceramic bezel/green dial LV would be more in line? Cheers guys, yes I do like that style too. I already have an Oyster which I never wear as it's just too small on the wrist. The LV is really nice, may take a look at those too, I also looked at the ceramic bezel GMTs today, but dont fancy black |

Russell If you decide on the watch above I would have the case back removed just to make sure your getting what your paying for. I would do that with any Rolex that is not being sold by a Rolex AD. |

+1 on all the points made by the 3T gents above. JMHO also.....for a first Rolly, get a classic one like the workhorse Submariner or the GMT2C. You will never go wrong with any of these. The Milgauss is also a good choice but the smooth and polished bezel might show more swirls and dings versus the diver variants. Enjoy the dlimena  |
