JENNY caribbean 300 Re-EDITION

By TLex
DOXA Watches celebrate 50 years of Jenny watches with a wonderfu
l re-edition of the caribbean 300. The Jenny caribbean 300 re-edition is a Limited Edition of 500 watches. It comes in 5 different dial bezel color combos: black dial with either a yellow or orange bezel, blue dial with a blue bezel, orange dial with an orange bezel or silver dial with a black bezel.

The watch case, which is constructed from brushed 316L Stainless steel measures diameter 42mm x 12.30mm thick. It features a sapphire crystal with a diameter of 33mm (AR inside), a unidirectional rotational diver bezel with a sapphire crystal bezel insert and Jenny's patented Non-Decompression table. There's a 12hr luminous marker under the crystal.

It has a Jenny engraved screwdown crown and caseback with a 12.30mm diameter. The watch is powered by a Swiss made ETA 2824-2 movement with a signed Jenny rotor. It is presented on a custom black Jenny rubber divers strap with a signed Stainless steel buckle. It comes in a blue presentation box priced 1290USD.

I can't say that I remember the original Jenny watches because I wasn't even a twinkle in my father's eye back in 1963, but I have seen on occasion pieces from vintage collectors. I find the non-decompression table an intriguing technical feature. Today it serves only as an aesthetic feature, but in many ways it typified divers of its day and was functional.

Apart from the addition (I think) of the Sapphire crystal bezel inlay and perhaps its measurements, the 2013 caribbean 300 is a faithful re-edition that should find favor with vintage connoisseurs whilst appealing to collectors of modern retro / vintage styled dive watches.

It seems that at this stage the watch will be released by Doxa rather than a relaunched Jenny brand, but you never know we still might be lucky enough to get a Jenny 'Flying Saucer' 1000m re-edition down the road, now that would be cool . . .

VERY interesting development for sure.

I like this one, and would actually prefer to see it be offered by a relaunched Jenny brand. Very cool either way though! thumbsup.gif

Good dial diameter for the size. Very tempting!

Nice and retro.

My only problem is that I think there are nicer watches out there at "better" prices.

I like that the Doxa/Jenny Family have decided to re-issue this model...if it is built to the same quality standards as a Doxa then we will be receiving an awesome watch at a fair price imho...now to decide which color!ThumbsUp02.gif

Really nice Re-Edition !

Love the bezel, case and dial.

But the hand set doesn't work for me ! Strange shape for me...

I am a fan of silver dials. But silver dial and silver hands - no way ! no.gif

I was thinking of the same thing. Maybe orange minute and black hour hands? They are starting to grow on me especially the orange dial/orange bezel combo.

This is a classic combo. ThumbsUp02.gif
