Well, G.P has a new design coming up...

Like TLex, I'm not convinced with the crown-guard design but it might look better in reality...

Holy cow ! wowzer.gif

Looks really stunning on that pic.

Just seen on oceanictime.

I like that case with unique crown guard.

A bit much compared to the sleeker design of the original but cool.gif

I like it...But the crown-guard should be a bit thicker at the case base...

This Sea Hawk 3 Pro design is a pretty aggressive design jump for a relatively conservative brand like Girard-Perregaux IMO, but I do like it! thumbsup.gif

Those highly raised markers (and I'm assuming highly raised hands to clear those markers) will lend to alot of dimension and depth under the crystal.

The significant departure in the case design from past Sea Hawks sort of reminds me a bit of the Linde Werdelin Oktopus, which I find to be an incredibly designed and finished timepiece.

Pretty cool design and will no doubt look much better in real life and in real world pics than the graphic referenced on Oceanictime.cool.gif

Considering the history of G.P: Traced back to 1791 and already presenting a tourbillon in 1867 who would evolve to be the 3 bridges masterpiece in 1889 and be later declared "out of competition" from 1900 because of the supremacy they had on international exhibitions...(here I take facts from them home-side and resume)
It's kind of surprising that in 2002, they take a turn to a monster 3000m diver, pushing the tradition to meet advanced technology: Compared to other similar houses staying much more traditional in design and size.
I guess that G.P want to signalize that even they are among the oldest horology houses in the world, they are still young and innovative in the spirit.
The Sea-Hawk adventure seems to have just began and I guess that this number 3 will be full of cool surprises...

Wow very radical change. I think it will be a winner.

A conventional strap change would be hard with this reduced lugs passage...

Sorry but the jury is out on this one.  no.gif

I like the Hawk II and II Pro for their understated elegance and this is moving a bit too much towards the Hublot / Audrey Piglet (Audemars Piquet) school of design for my taste.

I really do not like that strap arrangement either.

Like you, I'm not for this kind of strap arrangement either.
But some like it. At list G.P come with something "new" but as you say, there's a smell of other brands who been there...
Being very satisfied with the S.H.2 I look more forward to see this new chrono.
I still prefer this than A.P or Hublot anyway.
Right now Hublot come with models who nearly look like some Zlatoust with 4 crowns

Don't get me wrong - it is still a reasonably nice piece and "evolve or die" as they say.

It is just that, unless it is particularly stunning in the flesh, I shall be chasing a Hawk II Pro instead.

And definitely not that Hublot, which may possibly be the ugliest watch in the world...

No problem, I get you on thatThumbsUp02.gif
On my side, I wait to see the crown-guard profile of the S.H3 because it looked a bit slim from the top... I hope for a full view tomorrow.
The Hawk2Pro is somehow elegant in the design: This watch will still be actual in 20 years I'm sure. This line been existing since 2002-4 and it didn't loose it's charm.

There's always worst...But I would say that Tauchmeister should sue them in court for design theft...subtlelaugh.gif

I can see the defense developing: " My Lord, there has been no intellectual property theft; this is a whole different kind of ugliness..."

I already disliked the Hublot when they came out because of the rubber...
It looked cheap on an expensive watch: But now people want rubber everywhere and soon Patek will ruberise it's watches to be coolno.gif

Uncovered today as planed... I like the chrono.
The diver dial is superb but I'm not sure about so much rubber on it(even the crown)

Well the jury is back in and it's a crocadillapig for me.

The case and angles are not to my taste and whilst the dial is different it does remind me of an Android Diver style to a certain extent.

I still have the Hawk II Pro firmly in the cross hairs.

I would not exchange my 2.Pro against a 3.Pro...
Too much rubber for me there: Rubber dries and crack with time, specialy when it's exposed.
I don't see this material as a advantage on a watch: I never understood the rubber craze and I will never understand it apparently.
This and silicone are crap, I prefer the naturaldog smile.gif

Ah, but Will, the natural way can get you in trouble! Sometimes, you just have to use rubber subtlelaugh.gif
As for the GP3, now that I have seen more than renderings, I am not so sure anymore... I agree with you and Keelson - 2 Pro all the way!

In that case only, I agree...Still, no silicon: Can't get it as hard as titanium with a cyborg subtlelaugh.gif

Now, there's a question: Will the S.H.2-pro be produced anymore or does this new model replace it?
If I was you guys, I would not wait and see: The 2-Pro might be rare to see one day as I don't think G-P been producing any million serial.

True enough but not an option for me I'm afraid... Other priorities at the moment so, unless I come across a pot of cash or sell up, nothing new and shiny coming my way for a bit. I've got the Hexa on order which is cheap and I can't unwind now but, other than that, sitting tightly.

Hah Khronos - the only "mint" I have is the packet of Polo Mints sitting in the car.

But I am looking forward to receiving the Hexa in January and maybe an Orca before Xmas too.raspberry.gif
