Can anyone recommend a particular type of watch band link remover? I need to remove some links from a new watch with push type pens. In the past I have taken new watches to the jeweler to do it, but I would rather do it myself and save the money. I have searched eBay and find that there are several types/approaches. Which one, if any, would you guys recommend? I want to make sure I don't buy a lemon. Thanks.

Some ideas to start with.

On most bracelets I use the deluxe from the watchprince.

some ideas on other options.

The time saved and the money make doing it worthwhile at least if you order on-line.

I highly recommend this particular pin remover. It is available from mywatchmaker.net for $16.95 to $17.95.

By the way, I purchased a "backup" version of this tool from Hong Kong for $10. It is a piece of crap. The one mywatchmaker has is the right one to get.

The first one shown is the one I got from Hong Kong. Not receommended (by me anyway). Mine doesn't screw in straight and there is no height adjustment. It is poorly made compared to the one I have that is identical to mywatchmaker's unit.

The 1 Mike reccomened is the easiest to use and I agree ...Stay away from the Cheapie...the Pin extractors(bits) break easily or get stuck in the Bracelet :P I have 1 like Mike's and 1 from Ofrei that works Awesome...the Horotech Punch Set Link Pin Remover #FB MSA 10510 and can be seen in the link for Ofrei that Eric provided..the Bits are hardened steel and  the Base can be used for other WIS needs :) good Luck OM and Good seeing You here at 3T Buddy

Thanks Oscar,

I really appreciate the advice and welcome. I would like to thank you for your post about the Overstock Accutron you purchased. I have been watching that particular model for some time now. I kept putting off the purchase hoping the price would drop. You helped me strike while the iron was hot on that one. Let me know what you think of yours when it arrives, and I will do the same. :D
