I have my eye on a big, chunky diver, automatic, blue dial, knurled crown but have no idea as to their quality and/or value.  Any help/comments would be a appreciated! boy10.gif

Thank you!

I have never had one, but O and Tony just love the Renato's on Slop HaHa!!!  Minkowitz, spelled wrong more than likely, family has a history in the business.  Some really like the pieces but the Renato being a knock off of the Oceanaut and them patenting it to try to give it legitimacy is a joke, been there and done that one before and not again.

I know that the individual Daniel Mink, seemingly legitimate issue of the Mink family, is the villiage idiot making rediculous and unprovable statements on SlopNBC...........I also know that the Renato line is made by a moron who thinks that spending Dad's money gave him insight into everything in the watch business except customer service, which he learned at the knee (or there abouts) of the famed Eyal Lalo....that is, when he was able to knock JS off his knees and get close enough to Eyal to hear..............but I digress.................my quest is to the quality of the original Mink watches!

There were some at TJ's a while back that many bought at various low prices...I have never seen a Diver style though...do you have a pic?...Daniel Mink at one time made some nice high end Watches and sold out to two guys who actually ran the Company for many years an few years ago...as far as if they still own D.Mink I don't know but I do know Daniel Minchowitz...aka Daniel Mink of Renato.has nothing to do with them so that's a Big Plus :P....Daniel Mink also had a few deco models with Locman in the mid 80's...I am not sure if the senior Daniel Mink is still alive?...his wife Rena is married to Philip Stein...of the Philip Stein "Teslar" Watch fame with the magnets in the caseback!...who btw shares his office of business and same phone # with none other than Danny Minchowicz of Renato where Rena and Stein are Executives in Renato as well....so with all that said Ken it is a good guess you are either looking at a Original D.Mink or one made after his selling....either one being more than likely a Great Watchhand6.gif..I know Edgel picked up a nice Cushion case and so did Glen...they may have some input as to accuracy ...F/F...etc....Sounds Good though Ken....Good Luck...especially if it is another "Steal" you Lucky son of a Gun!!!yossam1.gif I have my eye on a big, chunky diver, automatic, blue dial, knurled crown but have no idea as to their quality and/or value.  Any help/comments would be a appreciated! boy10.gif

My TJ down the street has had Mink divers. They looked pretty nice. Right now the TJ has a couple of Mink watches. Not bad looking. I'm not sure I would buy one though.

This DMink (TT days) is one of my favorites - an excellent timepiece.

I picked up a Tempus at TJ's about six monthes ago, Ken, and I have been very happy with it. The F&F is outstanding and it is keeping COSC quality time. I would reccomend one based on my experience. I saw a diver like you pictured at one of the TJ's near me but it was priced at $450 and I thought that a little high, but I really liked the watch. The company was acquired in 1997 by Mitchell Caplin in the USA and Davi Galvo in Switzerland and has no connection to the Daniel "Mink" on Slop.

For those of you who know Mink watches, does $350 sound like a good/fair price for the diver (dark blue dial).  I have never had a rubber strap watch yet, except for a couple of Seiko that I changed out immediately.  But I like the feel of this one..........I guess with the 30 day return policy, I can't go too wrong! boy10.gif
