I’m on a business trip to Puerto Rico an ran across a jewelry store that had a lot of nice watches (Breitling, Omega, Rolex, etc..) while I was shopping for souvenirs. Of course I had to go in and check it out. I saw some big watches in one of the windows that caught my attention. They had a collection of U-Boat watches that really caught my eye, in particular the Flightdeck Series CAB. I’ve never owned a watch this big, but it really looked good on my wrist. The retail tag was $2700.00, but after some serious discussions with the owner I was able to negotiate a final price of $2006.00 out the door (I didn’t buy the watch, but the owner assured me he would honor the price if I go back to buy it). He is also a WIS and was actually glad somebody shared his passion too. After some research, I learned U-Boat doesn’t sell their watches online anymore. Watchuseek used to sell them, but since they are an online store, they can’t sell them anymore. Some unauthorized resellers and Ebay sellers are still selling them online in price ranges of $2500.00 to $3500.00 for the Flightdeck Series CAB, so $2006.00 is actually not a bad deal.
Does anybody have any experiences/knowledge with U-Boat watches? I have a present coming to me this month and this could be the perfect gift. And since I would be buying it from an authorized dealer it will carry the full warranty from U-Boat. Your opinions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is a store not too far from where I live that sells the line. For a big watch, I think they are terrific. It is the kind of watch that even non-WIS people in the Jewelery store stop and ask about. Outstanding packaging too. No discount offered either. If you like it, I'd buy it. Very Military, Very cool.cat28.gif

Well, as you can see on the avatar, after much debate I decided to get the watch. I couldn't pass up this good deal. I wore it for the last two days and you can't really tell you are wearing such a big watch. I'm trying to get some better pictures to include some side by side with some of my other watches for size comparison. As soon as I finish all the pictures I will post in the new arrivals.

Congratulations! That is a really handsome watch. Like I said earlier, there is a dealer close to me and I have drooled over them every time I go in to their store.
