While browsing through one of my favourite watch stores today ...

1. Guy in his mid 40s purchases a two-tone Rolex Submariner for $7,500.  As he's handing the salesman his credit card he asks "what's this called?" (while pointing at the bezel of the Sub).  The salesman - trying not to laugh - answers that it's the uni-directional bezel.  "Oh yeah?" the buyer says ... "What does it do?" subtlelaugh.gif

2. I tried on the Chopard Turismo XL and loved it!

Amazing - spend that much money on something he didn't even know how it works.

Tried the Chopard on?  You didnt indicate if you ever took it back off...   Did it follow you home?

Sounds like a blast!! Dude didn't know what the bezel was?? And paid full price? My hero!!toon1.gif

I was just looking at one of these a few weeks back. Except my AD had it on a nice double padded leather strap. Really a beautiful and sporty watch with great wrist presence. I don't know a damn thing about the ETA in it. Its the Base ETA Caliber A07.161 (24 jewels, 28,800 vph, 16½ lignes) with COSC certification. It certainly was beautiful to look at...

What was your AD asking? If you don't mind my asking...

I wish!! My 25th birthday is in a few months - what a nice present that would be! :p  But, no - the Turismo is still at the store.

They were asking retail, minus 20%.  The total worked out to somewhere around $5,600 (CAD).  They sell on ebay (minus the power reserve) for about $3,000 (US) though.

My AD was right around the same... retail minus possibly 25%. I reaaly liked the power reserve with it "F" and "E" like a fuel gauge.

Yeah, so do I!  And the rubber strap was extraordinarily comfortable.
