Yes indeed! What a cracker that is, Graham. Love it every time I see it! I think this might just be my fave PAM of all time.

For me, Friday is already over (as far as work is concerned!). Something old was on the wrist today. It is an Elgin Swisstronic - a fab old thing that I reckon looks half decent on the mesh strap to which I "mated" it. Yes - for the eagle-eyed - date starts to change about an hour and a half before the midnight mark and it is an old shot! Oh well... just as well I like the blue details on the face and the cool blue marks on the hands.

Have a good weekend 3T... Ian

Very retro looking, reminds me of my Sadco, I will have to look for that. Anyway a lovely classic looking watch from the 70's? Great!

Cheers and thanks for the kind words mate!

Would love to see yours if you can track it down! bravo.gif

This particular Elgin dates to February 1971 - so that was a very good guess! Similar in case design to the Omega Dynamics of the same era, too, but with an electronic movement and not the good 'un in the Omega. 41.5 across excl crown, and feels quite good on the wrist. I am liking these oval shaped watches that are wider than the are tall. I guess thats why I STILL lust after a 1200m Ploprof...  I am NEARLY there.... if not for the damn tax bills...

Have a good Friday all!

Thanks, mate!
That Elgin just oozes 70's class - you should wear some bell bottom jeans with it!

Yes it is the original strap I changed it for the leather a while ago but as of yesterday swapped it back for comfort reasons.

Nice, Trentwowzer.gifThe satin finish case on Ball watches are, IMHO, among the best in the industry. There's a great focus on the hue and patina. That's also a great strap. Not the original leather, right?

You must have missed it...a couple of months ago they had a 30% off sale I happened to stumble on...knocked it down to about 3 bills, shipped!...one of the few watches I like better with the light dial rather than black, blue or orange!

Looking at it now, its not so bad and it does not dig in.
Maybe I have a wrist size they did not plan on for the leather......homerthinks.gif

This watch is really my most important of all as I got married wearing this and it is the only watch out of all my collection my wife like....out of my whole collection she only has time for this one....

Beleive it or not its in my work bag and seized by the looks of it, it needs a service.

Will, I have posted many wrist shots of this watch previously, but for you, I kill da bull!subtlelaugh.gif

Graham - with twin onions, that is just such a killer watch, good sir. You can not get many more functions (other than a pwr resv) on a PAM. Trying to add them up - sapphire, GMT, second time zone, 26mm strap, alarm, inner bezel, twin crowns, brushed/polished, sunken dial - there is absolutely NOTHING to dislike on this one.

Yep - I have seen your wrist shot of it before - but it slays me every time.

Enjoy!  Ian
