First up a Hamilton 917 PW movement for a project.

Next up a Hamilton 748 WW movement.  Dont know what I will do with it as its on the small side.  I just think the decoration is beautiful so I had to have it.

Finally is an old Accutron with a tuning fork movement.  My first one of these.

I think my hobbie has taken a turn.  Finding myself more interested in movements now more than the watch.  I want to get morre inot the tuning forks and been looking at some Hamilton electrics.  I think they are pretty cool, basically a mechanical movement but with a battery.  Also the decoration on a movement is playing a big part in my purchase.  I also just learned of the Illinios "Bunn Special" movement.  Will be getting one of those soon also.

I wish I were like you, scottran....from watches to movements. But my eyes are so bad, I'd get a migraine looking into the bellies and navels of those beauties. Given the chance, I'd go for an Angelus and a deSchild. I read up somewhere they were very good and very hard to find. Good luck with your project.

Now there you are getting yourself into some new trouble!  Once the movement bg bites, it is terminal, I'm afraid.  Requires chronic medication in the form of.......more movements!toon1.gif

Enjoy this aspect of collecting watches.  My collection of chronos has certainly started heading that way.

Very cool indeed Scott, although I would probably go blind trying to work with those as well. Keep us posted with your projects.

BTW - I especially like your one picture of the 748 movement ( how did you get it to stick to the ceiling subtlelaugh.gif )

LOL,  so you noticed that.  Actually its a paper plate. toon1.gif I should have left it alone.  Now that you mention it, it does look like its hanging there.
