Well...many have seen this in the daily wrist shot section over the last couple of days, but thought I should go ahead and post it here. I got this one from Brice (aka Jeep99dad)...he ordered a Parnis Pilot and this Cali Dial knowing that he would flip one of them, and well, I picked this one up!!! By the way, Brice is a great seller and all around great guy as well...a real straight shooter who is a pleasure to do business with!!!! Thanks Brice!! This one arrived with plastic still on the front and back as Brice only took the front plastic off briefly to snap a brief pic himself. These are really fun watches for very little $$...nicely built actually with an unexpected decorated movement visible through the display back...not bad!!! As Brice had already pointed out to me when we were discussing me catching his flip, the strap on this particular one is nothing to write home about...stiff and just sort of blah...I am in the process of picking up a strap that will be suitable with the main goal of not putting a $100 saddle on a $50 horse if you know what I mean. This particular one was running WAY fast when I got it (gaining 30 seconds every hour ...yes I said every hour), so I took my first attempt to "regulate" it using the very visible indicator on the movement...it's currently running at -4 sec/day over the last couple days and I may tweek it a little back the other direction to at least get it to run on the + side like I prefer. Not bad for the first attempt IMO. In the realm of Chinese watches, these Parnis' seem to be making a pretty good name for themselves...at least with the feedback I have seen/read, people seem to be overwhelmingly happy with them for the small $$ invested. While I love Cali dials I have to say this one with a sub-seconds throws me. But quite unique for sure. Pretty darn cool!:D

Very nice looking watch Chris!:D I'm honestly not a fan of Calif. Dial but, I have to admit that, for some reasons, I like this one. I don't know if it's because of the mix of hands with the black dial, but it looks very good. Never tried a Parnis yet, and you pointed out my only concern with these watches, the movement. I would like to hear if you manage to regulate it to be constant in time keeping (i understand that moving the adjustment screw or leaver on the hair spring is not a real movt. regulation, but I always managed to reach very very good time keeping with my Seiko's movt. and my Miyota's movt). My experience with very affordable Chinese watches I've seen from guys i'm working with, was that it's + 5minute a day then -3 the +2min an hour and almost impossible to adjust for better precision....If it can keep a descent time like the -4sec a day you have now, which is very good IMHO, then this is a brand I should give a try... Again, I cannot understand that they can sell these nice looking watches for so cheap, congrats for the nice pick-up Chris and don't forget to post some pix with the new strap when you have it! hand6.gif

Very nice Parnis, Chrishand6.gif. The Cali is really one of my faves and the finishing on that one looks awesome. Wear it in good health:)

Thank you Daniel and Jeff for the continued kind words... Daniel...agree with what you are saying here...definitely doing a poor man's "regulation" here...I will be sure to let you know how the timing on this one turns out...like you said, if I can get it to run fairly consistently from day-to-day that would be great rather than seeing it be very inconsistent with large +/- time swings from day to day. I'm tweeking it today again and then plan to let it ride for a while and see how the timing looks.
