My STEINHART Ocean 1 Vintage Red arrived this afternoon ( It's a nice surprise after a long day work  and Big thank to Anders from Gnomon hand6.gif ). This is my first Steinhart watch and my first impression is it's one heck of solid, hefty piece. And the quality excels what I expect to pay for. First thing I do after unpack it, I change the original stainless steel bracelet to a carbon fiber strap which I ordered with the watch.... The CF strap gives the Steinhart more "Tool watch" look.....   A cold drink to celebrate my new collection yourock.gif  And it looks pretty good on my wrist too.... :D:D:D  Thank for looking and have a nice weekend guys. Cheers, Sang |

Is this a similar watch?Hi Greg, Both Debaufre & Steinhart are made from the same factory in Germany. Ocean 1 (colour line) and GMT are the same specs. The main different between Ocean 1 vintage in Steinhart to Debaufre Ocean 1 Classic is using plexiglass instead of sapphire crystal glass. Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage watches are using Plexiglass. http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?id=67&artnr=191&Sel_ID=9#191 And as far as I know all Debaufre Ocean watches are using sapphire crystal.
