This post is obviously a bit tongue in cheeck, but it IS a Jaeger and it IS a new arrival! Oversized watch your cup of tea? You aint seen nothing yet! Of course I am talking about the very famous JLC ATMOS clock. I acquired this one yesterday after a long winded negotiation with the PO. This one hails from 1965, and its in perfect running order. I'm really excited about getting a good one at long last! For those that are not familiar with the ATMOS: it literally runs on air! It has a pressure sensitive bellows which is activated by changes in temperature. This in turn energizes the clockwork. Absolutely mesmerizing to watch, and perfectly quiet. A true perpetual movement, with absolutely no intervention required to keep it running. A true piece of horological culture! Attachment: 02022010738 (640 x ratio).jpg (Downloaded 60 times) |
