Well I wasn't in the market for another boutique Miyota powered Hong Kong cased watch until I saw the Artego lineup and had to have one. Of course the haters will say this design has been done before and to a degree they are right... I mean what watch design hasn't seen the light of day. This is a hooded lug design with a heavy case and beefy bracelet to match. A big time heavy duty diver. And Artego combines a great product, a great value and excellent CS to boot. I emailed Robert a question Sunday and he got back to me that evening. I ordered the watch Sunday evening and here it is courtesy of Fed-Ex.

I opted for an orange dial (surprise!) with a blasted finish and couldn't be happier with the watch. The watch is tight, the bezel shows some metal dust (you'll see in the pix) and the bracelet was a little stiff until I worked it out. The screwed links make sizing a breeze and the four micro adjustments give any wrist a comfy fit. A diver's extension is not present. The drilled lugs will lend themselves to those who love to strap around but I think the super macho 24mm bracelet speaks for itself since I'm a bit of a bracelet guy. Fit and finish are excellent.

The ceramic orange dial really pops especially against the blasted finish and jumps out at you thanks to the AR coated sapphire crystal. Bezel action is somewhat tight but precise with no slop. Lume on the watch is killer! The crown seems to be on a bit of a skinny stem but there is no play and setting and winding actions are positive. The screw down crown works to perfection... no chance of cross-threading this one.

All in all a very satisfying purchase of a heavy dive watch with proven movement. Big bold and orange!

Wow, Big Day Mark... congrats on two awesome watches amigo... This Artego is a beauty for sure and your pics do it justice, it looks much better than the orange on the Artego site... the orange dial seems understated, a bit boring/faded/light... Yours pop more and I love it! Almost makes me regret I did not chnace the Orange dial one!! But I got the blue and black so can't complain!
Like you I was not in the market for such a diver, but after seeing it pop up in various forums threads, I was impressed by its looks and specs/cost ratio, it's a no brainer IMHO! My black one arrived today as well, after I ordered it just this week-end and it shipped yesterday!! wow! Impressive!!! And Rob was very prompt to answer my questions even on Sunday!! I haven't worn mine yet, not even removed the plastic around it, just opened it and took a quick look, make sure there was no dirt under the crystal or obvious defects.... Looks awesome, one tough diver and the case rocks! Love the raised indices as well... your pics show that real well! Can't wait for my blue to show up now to compare them and decide which to keep!:)

Again, big congrats and superb photos as well.
