Good morning WIS and a wonderful week end to all.
So I received this new to me Ball yesterdy afternoon and immediately put it on a Black Nato though it came with an additional orange Nato and the original (worn out some) Ball leather. Before I went out last night, I put it on a IWM thick brown leather strap I had, the same as on my Hamilton Tachymiler you've seen me post. However this watch has 21mm lugs and the strap is 22mm so I had to squeeze it in there:)
i'll make this short as I I don't know anything about this watchsubtlelaugh.gif ... I just liked it and the size was right at 43mm and it was an auto Traded it for a Quartz Lum-Tec I had. I had never had a Ball in my collection and had liked some of yours guys that you had posted in tHe daily threads. So actually if you have any info on this watch, mvt.... I'll take it:)
here are the Q&D's I took on the Nato and leather.
Cheers and thanks for watching!
Brice

Brice this is a nice choice for a Ball imho. I've got the same 1st generation with blue markers. It's run by an ETA 2824 abd mine has turned out to be on of my more accurate 2824s though I haven't opened it up to check which grade of movement Ball put in the watch. You'l fid a number of us who thing the 43mm case size is a "sweet spot"... not too big but big enough! The 21mm lugs are kind of goofy but you have already solved that haven't you? You'll find that same size on your Doxa 750... Regardless, this is a great pickup and one of my favorite Balls due to the clean almost mil-type dial. When Ball puts so many tubes on the watch it tends to make for goofy squared off numerals which look a little blocky imho. Yours has the tri-color lume to from your lume shot and that's another nice feature. You'll find this a durable and smooth operating watch. I put mine on rubber because I wanted to sport it up a bit. Enjoy it buddy and keep on being French if you must!subtlelaugh.gif

Congrats Brice! Looks good! I like this orange version: Typically French stuffsubtlelaugh.gif
Don't worry, the French haters never ever been setting a foot in Europe mostly.... Ever saw cheap hollywood movies happening in France? I laugh to death when I see that: It's nearly propagandadog smile.gif.
Anyway: Enjoy this good looking tough watch! Will be perfect with a black/orange stripe zulu

Thank you all for the kind words, and add'l info. I had assumed it was some sort of ETA 2824 or variant. Wasn;t sure if it was modified by Ball though. I have been very happy with all my 2824 equipped watch. As a matter of fact my Gsar ETA 2824 mvt was +5 secs/week. My two DOxas are also very accurate.
This Ball is +6 seconds since I received it and put it on Friday about 3pm. SO I would say it qualifies as very accurate for a mere 2824:)
The lugs are indeed a bit weird at 21mm but most 22mm straps will squeeze in there or can be shaved just a tad.
Like Paxman, I think the 43mm IS indeed THE Sweet Spot... especialy for this style watch. Perfect for me and my wrist anyway. I also liked the blue #s version but eded up striking a good deal/trade on this one which is in very good condition and came with a Black and an orange Nato in addition to the worn out Ball Leather. I did not like the Ball Leather anyway.
I also happen to have a Black orange stripepd Nato and agree with Will it'd be a nice compliment to this Orange numeral/markers Ball.
Thanks again all!
Brice

Congrats on a great timepiece.  I, too like 43mm watches.  I have never owned a Ball, but I think that brand is slowly making its way to the top half of my wishlist.....

Big Congrats on the new Ball arrival Brice!!!...and agree 100% with you and Mark (Pax)...the 43mm diameter on the Fireman is in the "sweet spot" for this style of watch which wears larger on the wrist IMO due to the lack of a divers type bezel (ie. large overall dial diameter).

Love the tri-color (Blue, green, orange) tritium tubes on this one...looks very sweet!!!thumbsup.gif

As you know, I have the Fireman II, which I like very much...mine came on the excellent Ball ss bracelet, and I have never taken it off.

Yours looks great strapped, however,....very nicely done!!!bravo.gif

Congrats and enjoy...welcome to the Ball club!!!
