Quick and Dirty for now. First impressions....a watch that does a lot of things well. Clean dial and very comfortable on the wrist.

Would have been a F*ck'in winner with no "black" writing and some vintage-red inscription instead. Still, it look good! Congrats!ThumbsUp02.gif

No qualms with the watch itself Mike, but after owning the Dievas Black Diamond, this one just doesn't have the same look. It basically looks like a PVD watch. Maybe there are different levels of "viccars" I think that is the term, that a watch can be coated with the DLC. The web site mentions the bezel and bracelet but is ambiguous about the case etc.

That said, and at the price point, the watch has a lot of "cool" factor to it. I'll try and get some better pics later. The caseback is very nicely done also.

It seems that Steinhart has displaced Debaufre in the hearts and minds of 3T'ers.

Nice watch...especially for the price. The DLC does scratch through quite easily, but you can temporarily touch it up with a Sharpie.bravo.gif

Thanks Ed....I guess that's the point. The DLC should be vitually scratch resistant so not really sure how they are marketing this watch.

I really know next to nothing about the various coatings available these days.  One guy I know, who has a company that's starting out...OWA...isn't satisfied with any of them.

I spoke to Anders too, and he only said that the Black Metal is the way to go.

I don't want any more coated watches, after I found out how easily this DLC scratches through.  Anders has more Black Metal watches coming out this year, apparently...so that sounds good!

I'm diggin' that Tony!thumbsup.gif

And Mike since the change of ownership at DeBaufre they never communicated with 3T basically giving us a kiss off so good riddance for members to favor Steinhart. Better name anyway!subtlelaugh.gif

Steinhart appears to be coming out with more new models also. And, more attractive ones at that than DeBaufre.

use the search engine Mike and you will see what happened 1st hand from the previuos owners of DeBaufre...not good!...Alldaron and the Knewitz Family...Jon & Elsa who are the original founders of Steinhart and DeBaufre will be returning to 3T with their new line of watches...or should I say a watch made especially for the WIS purchaser....I have seen them and it is a very cool concept.ThumbsUp02.gif

Got to say (IMO) that Debaufre is still a very good and reliable company.  Steinhart does, however, seem to have a larger and more consistent inventory.

I am loving my Debaufre, especially my NAV-B GMT.

All companies have internal strife at one time or another and I think that both Steinhart and Debaufre are viable...I also do not think it necessary to humble one company to praise another...it is not in the spirit of 3T!

just my 2 cents!

I received top-notch service from DeBaufre the times I dealt with them (original owners). Nice watches, etc.

There just seems to be more interest here in Steinhart of late.

Mike,

I think the biggest reason is the new models Steinhart continually brings to market. there is always something fresh, from new models to LE and variations on a theme.

JMHO of course.

That was my thoughts also...
For the PVD, I thought that the DLC was much stronger than the PVD. Well, the first time I heard about the DLC was when Dievas presented them DLC-AGP: And it was really better than the PVD apparently.
Seems like the "DLC" name is popping out everywhere now and it seems also like it's beeing abused because it's not what I knew of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwHQIUJH-j8
