After almost a month of waiting this I finally received my Steinhart Ocean 1 Black.  Fit and finish are great.  Although comparing it with my Accutron VX-200, the Accutron looks to be of higher quality.  Comparing it with the Grovana model, the Steinhart is much better, I think Grovana still makes the basic models for this watch that other companies use, such as Steinhart; Debaufre; and the Robert Poseidon.  Anyway I like this one a lot, great value for the money...but where's the diver's extension?  Not that I dive, but it is a cool feature.

Here are the pics...

Congrats for this first 2011 buy!
That's one of the best value for a sub-alike watch apparently.
Yes, I've been reading about the Grovana and the same thing was said: Lower quality.
Also, the Accutron VX-200 seems to be under-rated and I'm not surprised about your comment: But It has a different look.
Are you satified with the cyclope on this Steinhart? Seems on the pictures that the magnification could/should be a bit better...?

The magnification on the cyclops is better than the pictures show...so it's good enough.

Ok! Because the cyclope been critisized on Grovana and Revue-Thommen's diver(who's in the Grovana group now...)
I'm not into cyclopes at all but until now, only my SAR Marathon had it really performant.

I don't mind the cyclops. None of my other watches have one, so it's a little different. Well I have an InvicTURD Grand Diver, more like Grand Disaster, that has one, but it is quite worthless, it even sits a little crooked...however I don't count the Invicta as part of the collection anymore since it totally stopped and isn't worth the money to repair it. It pretty much just sits in the junk drawer. Finding a replacement for the "sub" style was partly the reason why I went with the Ocean 1...

You can make a video of intensive sledge-hammering on the Invicturdsubtlelaugh.gif...
I prefer watches without cyclopes on my side: I may have mine removed from the SAR in the future...

Sounds like a nice idea, but I'm just not convinced it's worth the effort to get out all the video equipment...I like the idea of using it as a paper weight, door stop, something to throw at annoying people who come knocking at the door, or even as a coaster for my espresso cups...

See...A perfect fit, who wants some espresso?
