Just got my new Dievas Vortex from gnomonwatches/Anders, and man is it sweet!!!
Everything from the outer box, the leather inner box, the complimentary Dievas travel case to the watch it self, is just stunning! Love it big time!

A BIG thanks to everyone who gave their insight before I pulled the trigger on this one, Ohh how right you were!

So, as you probably guess, quite the happy camper hereanodie.gif

Thanks Williamsponge bob.gif
Well, since the hours are a bit off here, as to your time of day, I`m just of to bed here, and will probably spend the next good hour or two in bed checking out the lumecrazy.gifLOL.
Have been standing in pitch blacknes in the bathroom for five minutes so far, (with the wife telling me to get proffesionall help) and it looks really good! Of course not by any means as good as the megalodon, but then again havent seen anything that does. So, so far so good.

And, just have to gotta say something about how comfortable the whole deal is, light, sits snug on the wrist, and LOVE the leather strap! Only problem so far has been that the lug screws are so thight, that can`t get them loose, so haven`t been able to try the zulus out yet.

I agree that the lume isn’t the best, but I still love the look of it’s Icy Blue Lume. So much so that I find myself hitting it with my Mag even when I don’t have to, just to look at it….LOL

Since I work through out the night, this is always more or less a concern. However, in direct regards to the Vortex. It’s my opinion what makes this watch work, is the combination of the size and design of it’s dial, as well as the hands (the color or brightness of the white) which makes this watch extreme legitable.

Because of my work, I’ve purchased a few tritium tube watches. I still own one, btw, a traser big date pro.

However, as mentioned, I found the Vortex a great tool for my application.  So much so, that I haven't thought about my traser till now....LOL

Rolf, Big Congrats Again!!!  Enjoy and Happy Birthday!!!!

Lance

Btw, loved the winter photos you posted.  Your Country must be absolutely Beautiful!!!

Thank you all! thankyou.gifAppreciate it, and yes, this is probably the best birthday present ever, for me. (usually get socks and ties, you know the drill ...hehe)
Caught myselfe using the UV light on the vortex at least four times after I went to bed last night, hahaha. just to se that beautifull crisp blue lume, in its fullest. MAN is that a nice lume (not the brightes no, would rate it like a decent citizen, lum-wise I guess)
hammer.gif
So just loving it. And even the wife thinks it`s the nicest looking one I got
.
Having looked around for all the info I could find on the vortex, before I bought it, I´m thinking about doing my first review on it, and focusing on the things I want to know in a review, if that`s something that would interest u all?

BIG CONGRATS, ROLF! That's really a great watch and as you said, very light on the wrist. I wouldn't switch to zulus/natos though. It looks perfect as it is on leather. I would have wanted to get one in its early days of launch but Anders knows I'm a sucker for the big cases and that's 46mm upwards.
Enjoy it on good health for a very long time.

Congrats Rolf! I'm glad you like it and also that I could help you making this choice: It fit perfectly on your wrist and takes all the place it shouldThumbsUp02.gif
The screws may be locked with a bit of loctite, so take it easy and yes, some steam will do it. Still, it looks great on those straps! Enjoy the weekend's vortex

Thanks guys, thankyou.gif and especially to William and William (hammerfjord and watchdaddy1), without your comments and insight, I just might have gone and got me one of the others on the wish list. But this is just perfect! And Bigrustypig, you are right about the strap/zulu. got it on a zulu now, and gonna switch right back to the prestine leather strap. Cause that was just awsome.

And, William, leaning towards agreeing on the whole case-size "argument" we had ...As you said just above, it fits perfectly, and just the right sizeThumbsUp02.gif

Congrats on your Vortex, I ordered one awhile back and it became my daily watch for about 3 months, I could not wear anything else. And I disagree, the lume is decent, try charging it with a UV light for about 3 mins.

The vortex has been on my wrist more or less since I got it (only a few days with a new marina militare, the rest is all vortex:0) Just love it.

But, in regards to me comparing the lume to for instance citizens, I still stick by it. Not saying it`s no-good or anything like that, but just not as good as others (Benarus, seiko etc). But it works, no question there

TY mattnatti:0)
Just love it, has quickly become my go-to when I can´t decide what to wear.
But Lance just pointed out to me that DIEVAS has up´d the price from $880 to $980. So got lucky on that one.

Man, I gotta learn the Photoshop thing! Very cool Photo manipulation (?....LOL)!....bravo.gif

Lance

Btw, I don’t know how true it is regarding the shortening of the lume’s life by the utilization of a true UV light source to charge the lume. I read this somewhere after purchasing my UV flashlight, however to be safe….I use my LED flashlight to charge it, and my UV flashlight is now used for scorpion finding.

Hmm, UV shortening the life of the lume? Now that is NOT good. Thanks for that info Lance! Otherwise I guess I would be all out of lume by this time next year, cause like a true lume addict, I just can`t get enough of that bright green, yellow and icy blue.
 excellent.gif
So gonna follow you up on that one, and stick to the LED flash for the lume charges in the future. And it sounds logical, when you think about it, because UV light from the sun is one of the biggest reasons for damaging sertain types of material, and fades stuff pretty quickly. And here you`ve got some prettu consentrated UV ligh ...eventhough for a short period of time.
And since there`s not that many scorpions up here (like no one ...) I guess I will have to put the UV light on the shelve. Or I could allways go completly CSI, and check the whole house for bodily fluids. Let`s not ...
