Hi 3T, Here's my newbie, a Seiko SKX399K. This tiny diver (it's about as small as the 007 and 009) is not common at all and I had to wait about a year to get this from the AD. Vital stats: movement= the usual 7S26-0020 case= 41mm case w/ crown= 45mm thickness= 13.5mm bezel= 40mm lug width= 22mm lug horn tip to lug horn tip= 45mm spring bar to spring bar= 40mm crystal diameter= 32mm, standard Hoping that none of you will Google the answers to this question yet, can you tell me 3 differences on this little diver that makes it uncommon, and different from the usual Seiko diver like the 007/009? Quick and dirty shots: The entire package  The watch profiles   Case back  Mandatory wrist shot  Lume shot  I snapped this up because this diver is not common at all. Paired with the SKX401K, these 2 little babies make for a smart addition to any Seiko diver collection. I might snap in a Jubilee or an Oyster eventually. Overall impressions: typical small Seiko diver. Great daily beater, reliable, easy to fix and mod, tested, long-lasting watch for so little money. Also very light and comfy on the wrist with its workhorse 7S26-0020. The only negative, though a little one, is that the lume is not as strong as the other Seiko divers. I'd rate this lume at 9 viz the OM and BM at 10 on lume. I think I won't be able to wear this often because of its small size but I might just store it as a trophy and keeper. Awaiting the 401K. I have no clue, but it looks great, I'm a seiko fan for sure these days..CONGRATS Jeff, looks like it's worth the wait??? Now give up the differences

Congrats Jeff...love this cool and very rare Seiko!!! Enjoy it amigo!!! Well, my daily post points to one difference, but like Chris (OldeCrow)...I won't play yet either, since I own one of these little guys...although I was only aware of 2 differences...

This is because our brains are wired to the traditional Seiko diver and yet this SKX399K borrows something from the Seiko 5 and the Marine Master. I know Joe is now scratching his head. No Google yet, guys

OK, William and 3T. Here goes.... #1. This is probably the only auto Seiko diver with SQUARE indeces. The only other one is probably the just-as-rare SKX401K. The usual auto Seiko diver has ROUND markers. (By the way, ss there a Rolex Sub with square indeces????) #2. The usual Seiko auto diver has elippzoid markers at 6 and 9. This has rectangles. #3. The usual Seiko auto diver's indeces' edges are only outlined in the same lume material as the index itself. This one has polished chrome edges...a trait borrowed from the higher end Marine Master lines. #4. The usual Seiko auto diver's hands, like #3 above, are lume edged....almost the same color as the index itself. This one has polished chrome edges....like the Marine Master line or higher-end kinetic series. #5. The usual Seiko diver's meatball on the second hand is in front of the second hand. This one's meatball is at the rear, something borrowed from the usual Seiko 5 line. #6. The 12 o-clock index is different from the usual diver in the sense that the base is narrower. #7. The usual Seiko auto diver has amazing lume....10/10. This one is about 9/10, on my subjective visual ocular scale. My sources....observation, AD comments and fishing other forums and Quartzimodo. Enjoy this new baby amigo! There's a lot of cool Seikos at low prices but they are not made in Japan and until now it's this detail who kept me away from them... I know, after beeing a Switzerland and Germany snob, I became a Japan snob... Well it's just my personnal vision...
