Hey everybody..just received my Helson Tortuga (#18)..and I am super happy with this one..she's a keeper. Love everything about..particularly the whole vintage vibe. This is my first Helson believe it or not...and I am very very pleased.

I found it on ebay and when I received it..the warranty card had Oscar Gaspar's name on it...love it...keeping it in the 3T family so to speakThumbsUp02.gif

A couple of quick shots as I wait for a polished mesh strap for it..and once that's in place..its a time warp back to the 60's and 70's.....party.gif

Big congrats to your new Tortuga Antoine !

It is really a great watch with a lot of vintage character.

I love the case shape and the option of the changeable bezel. ThumbsUp02.gif

The watch has a very comfi size. It is very comfortable to wear, especially on the mesh.

Wear in good health my friend !

I was just about to order from Peter..but my girlfriend surprised me by purchasing one that I showed her from StrapCode...same price as Peters..$100....with PloProf links and fold over clasp....I was reading that some owners felt that the Helson clasp was not that sturdy??...and thoughts on that...because if I don't like the one she ordered..I will contact Peter

I have the original mesh from Peter. I have no problems with that.
The clasp is very strong.

Totally agreed thumbsup.gif

but unfortunately, my chopstick wrist is unable to fit on any kind of mesh hence my only option is only leather straps mistake.gif

You have another option...I currently have mine on a 22mm black Isofrane rubber strap...which I believe are the most comfortable rubber straps available...and they always have that great vanilla scent injected into the rubber..you may want to check those out too.

Yes, you're right on isofrane, I can barely fit using the last hole for the Isofrane but the tail sticks out like a sore thumb no.gif

just wish my wrist could be slightly bigger..sigh...then a mesh is definitely in.

oh well...haha

That's too bad..the only other thing I can think of is a rubber strap with a deployment buckle...because you can cut the rubber down to fit your wrist better...just a suggestion for ya.

It's rather easy to dremmel the mesh down to even less than a 6" wrist. The 4 "extenders" can all be removed.
