I suspect my cell is about to give up the ghost.  Reading the iPhone post got me thinking this may be a place to get some suggestions.  Anyone want to help me with my next phone.  Here's my deal:

I'm with verizon.  Until now, I’ve resisted an integrated phone/PDA and had focused on phones purely for signal/call quality and battery life. Now, I’m text-ting every day for work and I’m sure my next job will allow for some type of phone integration with email and etc. I’m tired of having both a cell and a pda.  I’ll try to lay out my priorities.

1. call quality
2. text (easy of use)
3. Intuitive functionality
4. web access/interface for personal (web) and or office email.
5. battery life
6. Build quality/durability
7. decent camera is a nice to have

Media player, ability to open office apps like xls, doc, etc are nice to haves but not priorities at all. Current PDA is a Dell Axim, if that matters. I'll find a way to manage my PDA data into the next phone.

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Here's my 2 cents....

Right now I have phones with Verizon and Sprint, just dumped a phone with T-Mobile, my thoughts on these three carriers...

Verizon - with out a doubt the best coverage of any of these three, I have a house on top of a mountain in western NC and I get full "5 bar" coverage there all the time.  However, based on the way I use my phone 3000 - 4000 minutes per month their unlimited package with international usage is the highest of the three.

Sprint - very close in coverage to Verizon, still have service in NC but usually only 3 or 4 bars, still works good and very easy to switch from Sprint service to another carrier like Verizon.  Pertaining to cost, the $150 Verizon unlimited package is only $105 with Sprint.

T-Mobile - coverage in a word "sucks", if you are within a metro area you get decent but not great coverage, I got zero coverage in NC.  Their cost is the least of any of these,. but you get what you pay for.

Phone....I am a big fan of the Blackberry's, have had Treo's and Audiovox 6700's, without a doubt the Blackberry is the best.  Easy to use, very simple email set up regardless if it is apersonal or corparate account, it does not require a RIM server to use corporate email.  You can have up to 5 separate email accounts with realtime sync.  The Desktop Management software is also very easy to use, syncs contacts, calendar, etc directly with Outlook or other desktop applications.  The Curve has a great camera for both still and video.

Nabco,

Thanks for the reply.  I will probably stick with Verizon as the carrier.  I've been too happy with the actual coverage.  The blackberry comments are VERY helpful.  Thanks a mill.

Hey Nabco,

Took an unofficial poll on the golf course yesterday and the blackberries are getting good reviews for the same reasons you mentioned.  Easy of use and the easy to configure email.  Looks like this decision is getting easier.  Thanks again for your input.

I'm with Verizon here in California. I just got the LG enV2, and love it. Great call quality, full querty keyboard and a 2 megapixel camera.
