I have to admit I am a big Trekkie. Big into sci-fi. Cant wait to see the new movie, looks AWESOME! Anyone else plan on seeing it? Looks like tons of action and the special FX look amazing. I am not one of these who thinks the movies should all follow "cannon". I just want to be entertained. I just hope the new cast has the chemestry the original cast did. |

Now just calm down for a minute. You still have, like a day and a half to go. I like well made Sci-Fi movies and shows. Not to mention I've been reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy books since junior high. I think this is going to be a good movie, plus, I'm pretty stoked about the new Terminator movie with Christian Bale and................wait for it...............G.I. Joe. Yep, I said G.I. Joe. There's one trailer out for it and it looks really cool. Yeah, I'm a Geek:D. |

I probably would have waited for the Treminator movie to come out on dvd but I am curious to see what Bale did with it. I really like what he did with Batman. He's a great actor but a as$ in real life. Another movie to look out for is a sci-fi independant called "Moon". Its due out in july. I have been hearing good revues about it. Its written and directed by David Bowies son. I doubt I will get to see it in a theater around here since i live in the sticks since its an Indy. "Angles & Demons" looks pretty good also. |

I hadn't heard that about Bale, but I know he doesn't like doing interviews because of a bad experience on the press junket for Empire Of The Sun and he likes to keep his private life exactly that. Private. I think he's a really good actor and think the new Terminator will appeal to new and old fans alike. I think with the new Star Trek, they're trying to capture a whole new generation of fans. But, it looks like it's going to be a good summer for movies. |

I also grew up on Star Trek and can't remember if I ever missed a single episode. We are all waiting for Day 1. Not sure though if it is for simultaneous global release. Beam me up, Scottie! |

Just got home and all I can say is wow! yahoo.gif I am excited already to see the next movie. I dont know if the characters will be able to mesh as they did in TOS since it was a weekly thing. But, so far so good. I think the new guy did Spock very well. Chris Pine did a good job with Kirk too. Notice how he was always being choked? Thought that was kinda funny. The wife even liked it. She usually doesnt care to watch trek, so that should say something. Its all new from here on. hand6.gifhand6.gif |

Finally got to see it a couple of days ago. I liked it and thought they did a really good job of updating it while paying homage to the original. I look forward to seeing the next one. |
