The wife and I went out to the Flight 93 Memorial after work today to take some pics for you all and to remember the day.  In case you arent familiar, This is where the hijacked UAL Flight 93 was brought down by the passengers outside of Shanksville Pa the morning of September 11th 2001.  Their act of bravery may have saved many lives in D.C..  I say this cause in my travels I have met some who have never heard of Flight 93.  Below are some pics of the temporary memorial.  I thought maybe those who havent been here would like to see it.  It is about 5 minutes from my house.

The main tent were the ceremony that was held this a.m.  Colon Powell and from what I hear General Tommy Franks spoke today.

In the center of the pic you can the the Flag.  This is where the plane crashed and where the Passenger remains are buried.

"Angels of Freedom"

Todd Beamers "Angel"  He is known for "Lets Roll"

The wall where people leave mementos. Every now and then it is cleared off.  The items are archived and stored at our Historical Society until the permanent memorial is built.

Panoramic pic of the wall

Panoramic view of the area

One of the guard rails that people have left messages on.

Right on. Today all Americans reflect on the horrible acts of the cowardly on 9/11/2001 which stand in stark contrast to the many heroic acts of Americans when faced with these despicable acts. Thanks for taking the time to get these pictures to share, Scott.thankyou.gif

It is a day I know I will never forget.  We were at the crash site minutes after the crash.  It seemed surreal, all the happenings that morning.  There was nothing left of the plane.  It hit the ground so hard it buried itself.  The plane flew right over our house before it crashed.  We looked up and saw a big jet flying low but thought nothing of it.  When the fire whistle blew I knew right away what it was.  What a day.

Sometimes it helps to talk about
a tragedy such as this,in order to
free oneself from the burden of pain.

The passengers of Flight 93 should
be recognized as the real heroes,
for taking action against the hijackers.
