Droid Incredible that is... anyone else pick up this latest Android/Sense smartphone?  I traded up from my Blackberry Storm 1 this morning.  This phone is freaking neat and Android with the HTC Sense UI is the best user experience on a phone Ive seen yet.  I love new toys almost as much as new watches... ;)

Oh and also incredible is my granddaughter - 5 months old now...

I've been thinking about it, I have the Storm 1 also, kind of waiting to see if Verizon get's the iPhone in the fall.

Does email work the same way on the Droid as on the BB

I retired my LG Dare for one today. Nice. I'm still in gaga mode playing with it. Much more sensitive than my Dare so will have to get use to that and fast. Love it.  yahoo.gif

Gmail is the primary email account - it and exchange are the only push accounts.  You can link up to 4 PoP email accounts similarly to the BB, but they will only notify when you enter the email widget and it refreshes.

So the emails do not come in without going to the widget...so it's different then the way the BB works....that would be a hassle for me

They come in for gmail and any exchange accounts...   Just the other pop accounts have to be refreshed, like yahoo or hotmail.  This may change in a future version of Android, or there may be an app in Market that can go out and schedule refreshes.

OK, so if I connect to a corporate email account that works...I may still hold out for the CDMA iPhone with Verizon

Correct... if you connect to a corporate email server using exchange, then yes it works.    You might wanna just go by the store and try the Inc out - after what happened with the Nexus One getting dumped, who knows if the iPhone will make it or not.  The trend seems to be Android devices, and they actually now have a bigger market share then iPhone does.... ;)

I've got about 5 hours of playing with this now. Got it on the charger now. There is a ton of free apps for it. I think I was up to about 25 when I stopped. LOL

I just found that you can set the download frequency so that your PoP mail accounts are refreshed automatically. I have mine set at every 15 minutes.  So its almost like a push... now if I can find a copy of Swype to load that will work, I will be quite ecstatic... yahoo.gif

Not unless the wife wants to and she's pretty happy with her Palm Pixi at the moment. With phones I am slow to adopt the latest and greatest...crap.gif

I've been able to upgrade since December. But was just waiting. The Moto Droid is cool just don't like the slide, Palm Pixi slide no like either. Storm2 just did not do it for me. HTC Eris was OK but then I got wind of the Nexus One and started following that which led me to info on this. Very happy I waited.  yahoo.gif

Steve how many times have you had to charge yours so far. I've played with mine so much I've had to charge twice since Thursday.

May order a 2ed battery. Also saw a solar recharger. If I can recall where I saw it may order that too.

Snagged a butt load of apps so far. LOL

I charge mine up bedside every night.   Took it on a trip to Gainesville to pick my son up from college Saturday, and used a car charger enroute.  Battery life seems to be an issue for some - but Im used to a quick drain from the blackberry.   But I did turn off the 'Always on' under Settings-> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile network.. this is only used if you venture off the Verizon network, but is a bit of a drain on the battery.  That helped a great deal...
