One of the main reasons I don't ride anymore.whichone.gif

Idiots look right through bikes. I don't care how careful you are as a rider... people just do not see bikes plain and simple.

Glad to hear you are OK.

Glad you are ok. As a fellow rider I understand how you feel dealing with people who cannot seem to see.

I often think that everyone should be required to ride a bike for a year before they can qualify for a car license. The roads would be much safer for everyone.

thanks Guys and yeah insurance is covering the damage. I now ride with an MC and I am the secretary. Missing a toy run this weekend and I am having the shop rush the repair I have 3 more toy runs comming up in the 2 weeks. I have a 30 day wait for my front fender from harley so will ride the toy runs without. on Sunday we had a 400 mile memorial ride for our mother charter who a year ago were comming back from their anniversary ride and had a fool in a stolen car cause another car to hit the pack. we lost a few members and had a few others badly injured, and the next day my accident.. Sad I agree with you BA on the riding of a bike for a year before getting a license to drive a car.

Good to hear you re OK Greg. I guess it just does not matter what state you live in, like Pax said, they just see through you. I thought is was bad here in Michigan because we are not on the road for 4-5 months of the year. Guess it just doesnt matter.

yeah.. was 15 months ago I was in my last wreck... that was the left side of the bike this 1 i had damage on both, bike high sided and I was dumped..good thing is I am ok just added a little to my limp from the last one but no surgeries from this one and I am getting a new exhaust system out of this deal. going from dual pytons to a 2to1 thunderheader. A little more torque and HP and sound sweeter.

Even though the traffic here in Asia is chaos. They seem to be more aware of bikes. I guess this is due to the fact that there a so many little bikes on the roads here.

I always feel most nervous riding back home in the States as, like was said by Pax, drivers there just don't see you--they look right through you.

The Thunderheaders should sound sweet.

Agree with Mark...grew up riding Motocross where you don't have to worry about careless idiots who literally look right through bikes like they are invisible (absolutely love motorcycles, but this simple fact keeps me from riding them on public roads...with a young family, I have alot to lose).  Still love to ride off-road, just not on public streets.

A close friend of ours had a Suburban pull out right in front of him like he was invisible...he swerved, clipped the front left end of the Burb...and of course, came out on the losing end.  He is lucky to be alive, completely shattered his right leg with 6 months of hard recovery just to be walking around again (could have easily blead out on the scene, and fortunately had ultra-fast emergency response on the scene that day).

Very glad to hear that you are OK given this serious accident.
