thisPoem written by John Updike, was inspired by the first solo tuba recital given in carnegie hall .Roger Bobo performed it.               --recital. Eskimo in Manitoba' Barracuda off Aruba 'cock their ears when Roger Bobo, Plays a solo on the tuba!   --------------------Try singing it. I heard a very nice choral arrangement of it on The radio show from the top on new years eve accompanied of course by a Tuba.

The poem is attributed to John updike in the Topic section of the posting. Is that what you meant ? I have also added attribution in the message body.

Ok ,I am big enough to admit when i make a mistake.I have apparently. What i heard on from the Top(This is a Music show on wfmt On sunday nights at 1900 hrs ) was not the poem in its entirety. Here is a link to it. Scholary papers are also available regarding it.I will let you find those. here it is http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/webstuff/poetry/Updike-recital.html  What a pain in the Tuchuss.Excuse me if i spelled that wrong. I do not speak Yiddish. The above link is identical to the one I have on my favorites list as far as I can tell. I hope you have better luck with it than I have had.I just typed it in the address box and it came up so you can try that.
