Living in the suburbs of NYC, I don't get many opportunities to shoot these days. (politically incorrect in so many ways around here!) Except- this weekend I was visiting my sister and brother in law outside of Philadelphia. I like watches, he likes guns and is very low key about it. (My sister shoots sporting clays, but doesnt exactly know what is in the gun safe.) He has half a dozen+ pistols (Glock 34 & 35, 2 SigSauers 226 to name a few), several rifles, several shotguns, competes in USPSA and belongs to a range 5 miles away. " You want to shoot?" "Yes!" While I got to fire the Glock 34 and 35 and thoroughly enjoyed myself, my 8 year son old got to shoot for the first time in his life and what a thrill it was for me to see first hand- .22 at 25 yards. Can you say hooked? The target is taped to his bedroom door and he can't wait to go back to visit his aunt and uncle. Oh, I wore my Seiko Land Monster, but no pics...

A great sport to get him involved in - I love to shoot.   I noticed you didnt say anything about YOUR targets?  Not as good a group as your son's??   ah well, am sure you will get the hang of it, Graham... heh...  ;)

His targets with the .22 were definitely better than mine with either the 9mm or the .40!

I love the smell off gunpowder on a cold winter morning. My boy loves to shoot too. He is one merit badge away from his Eagle and can't decide on a new watch or a new firearm.

That smells like "Victory" as the saying goes.
