Hello 3T'ers.
I just wanted to share my experience with SteveO from SteveoStraps.com. After seeing one of Oscar's posts with his VORTEX (drooling:) ) sporting a new SteveO Strap, I decided to check out his web site.
I saw a few things I like and the prices were super reasonable at $38.... But I wanted something custom... a bit different from what he had in his gallery.
- So I sent him an email with my request, specifying 5 things I wanted for my new Strap, which is going on my Breitling Jupiter Pilot. I sent Steve that first email on Tuesday 09/21 23:08. I attached pictures of the watch to help. My requirements for the strap were 1- Inner Lug width of 20mm, which is narrow and I did not like having a 20mm wide strap on this watch, especially as it got narrower to fit the deploying buckle. 2- To give the watch more size/substance, have the strap actually be 25mm, so the two extremities were recessed in/cut to fit the 20mm, but the bracelet width matched the outer lug width if that makes sense. 3- Leather/color of the "chestnut" bracelet on his gallery #4 (PIC1 below) 4- Black classic Stitching to match the dial and provide contrast with leather. 5- 1 Rivet on each side as on the pilot style strap on his gallery 6 (PIC 2 Below) except in black that match dial and stitching.    I wanted a unique strap very different from what I've ever had on my Breitling.
- To my surprise, he responded about 4 hours later only (he is in the UK) to acknowledge my request saying he would give my ideas some thought and follow up by the evening! I really like the quick communication offering a follow up timeline as well. I replied to his email with some more info at 8:09am
- Tuesday 09/22 at SteveO replied saying he'd be happy make the strap for me as I requested it, listing my requirements and a few clarifications he needed to move forward. he also gave me a quote that again very reasonable for such a custom piece IMO. TO add tot he great service and communication, he adz he can have it ready in 2 days!!!! and would send a pic before shipping to make sure I was satisfied!!! That's awesome!
-  I only got back to him Tuesday at 16:07 so 21:07 his time... late.... with the specs confirmation and go ahead..
- Not 1/2 hour later, my next email from Steveo thanking me for the extra pic I had sent him to help with my request and requesting PayPal so he can get started building. He again confirmed he'd have it ready in a  couple of days and would send a pic then.. so this was Tuesday at 21:46 his time! I paypaled right away.
- Wednesday morning, yesterday, he confirmed he had the funds and was building the strap.
- And today at 13:03, I get an email from him with pictures of my newly built strap (PIC 3 below)exactly as I requested it and early!! He emphasized that the strap looked a little dark as he had just treated it:) he even posted a pic of the strap on one of his test watch to ensure fit in the lugs....yourock.gif
I replied promptly that I was very happy with the pics and to go ahead with shipping...
So this thread is to be continued once I have received and installed my new strap:)
I know it is a bit lengthy but I think it is important to give detailed feedback especially positive for such great vendors ( poeple tend to be more vocal on negative experiences) and giving a clear timeline and details will give you a better and clearer idea of how great the service and communication/timing was, as my opinion only would be subjective.... what is good and quick communication to me may not be to you:)
So far Steve ) is a 10! :) perfect.gifI am already excited and cannot wait to receive my first custom strap.boy10.gif
Feel free to contact him at steveostraps@gmail.com
Cheers
Brice
PS: As I just typed this, just got another email from SteveO confirming strap is shipping tomorrow morning:)hand6.gif

Looks great!  You should source a Breitling tang buckle to complete the look.  Looking forward to pics of it mounted on your Breitling.

I would agree with this assessment of Steveo's CS at 100% accurate...i had exactly the same experience with him when ordering my custom strap (including getting it done way faster than his estimate) for my Destro Homage party.gif

The only reason I didn't post it as eloquently as Brice was for his personal well being....I know he will be getting his own fora here at 3T and my guess is with the quality of his straps and his more than reasonable pricing he will get VERY BUSY from our members, and it will probably start taking him more than 24 hours to build a custom strap...did not feel it was my place to preset the expectation woohoo.gif if you know what I mean.

I personally am really looking forward to his participation here at 3T.  Thumbsup3.gif

That's a nice-looking strap, Brice. hand6.gif

I can't seem to imagine how it would look like on your Breitling but I guess I have to wait for yourCamera_photos.gi.

Based on your lug widths, your Breitling isn't a very big one, right? Have you considered a bund set-up to raise the watch? Might look good, too....particularly in tan or cognac.

Thanks, I like the srap, just because it is custom and therefore unique:) I have an image in my head of what it'll look lik on the B but it'll be a surprise and may end up not working out... we'll see:) I'll post a pic in ths thread as soon as it is on the wacth!

The watch is 40mm wide and 45mm LtoL. I have a wrist shot of it in today's"what watch yuo wearing" thread if you want to see it. It is not a huge watch but I think it wears bigger though the skimmy strap doesn't help.. I think this new strap will make it look more substantial... maybe I am dreaming:)

What is a bund set up? Forgive my ignorance.

Funny you mentioned Coganc, it is the color I want for my bext strap.. I may have SteveO make it though I have been wanting to try Paul's straps too.. plus he is a French "compatriote":)

I saw your Breitling in the WRUW thread.  I think the strap will look great on it assuming the dimensions are correct.

BTW, all this talk about Steve-O-Straps has caused me to send him an order. LOL!

Good on you Brice! Can't wait to see it mounted. ThumbsUp02.gif

I do agree with Nick about our current expectations of service. It might a good sign if Steve slows down a little after getting his own forum. (business is boomin' woohoo.gif)
