Just wanted to share my new arrival....whipsnake pattern brown calf leather strap from SteveO. The strap arrived some time back but I was only able to retrieve it from my sister's recently. This is 22mm all the way, 135/85 and about 4mm thick. Very supple and the brown shade is exactly what I might need to vary the look of the serious-looking MM1000.

Now I'm showing it atop the Gunny vintage strap to simulate what the Darth Tuna MM1000 might look like on brown leather.

And a closer look is shown below. It might take a while to get used to the snake-on-the-DarthTuna but I guess that's waht our hobby is all about. Incoming is a nice light tan monster strap for this Darth. With the Iceland volcano throwing another tantrum, flights out of Europe might be delayed again.mistake.gif

Thanks for looking and hope you like it. Honest, brutal and even violent comments acceptedhappy1.gif

Really, Mark and Nic??? Thanks. Glad you like it. woohoo.gif

I plan to swtich straps often on the DarthTuna because I'm discovering the watch is very versatile and can take all sorts of bumps and dings without any marks.

A tuna riding a snake! I knew that you was crazy Jeff but this time...dog smile.gif
Anyway, don't screw them like it stand on the pics because you'll get a trouble to set the buckle aftertoon1.gif

I liked the other leather strap combo as it was grey-bluish and fitting with the reflects of the tuna case.
Not so sure about the snake but it might look good when you get it on the wrist

Thanks, WilliamThumbsUp02.gif. I value your comments. You may be right on the set-up on the screw bars under the watch.

If I don't like the snake riding the tuna, maybe I'll slap it on one of my humble pilotsBouncy.gif.

I'm also thinking of getting some 24mm vintage/distressed straps notched for 22mm so that I can use my 24mm PVD'd and DLC'd buckles that are now on vacation. What do you think, amigo? Will this work???

Allways pleased to help amigo!
I was meaning that you presented the buckle side of the snake strap on the tuna case in your pics: Just jocking about the mistaketoon1.gif
Your snake straps could fit the Steinhart pilot as it's brown also and could give it a cool twist! If I was you, I would not modifie the 24mm in 22 on lugs. It can look like a "home made" adaptation on the 22mm and will not be usable anymore on the 24mm without looking damaged...
If it's for the buckles, your 22mm buckle can fit a 24mm strap but the other strap will not go inside...? Didn't really understand your meaning maybe...
Anyway for the tuna, a nice grey Zulu could be great

I love black / brown combinations & that's a great looking strap, but I'm not sure I'd put it on a diver. I think I'd stick with the gunny- but variety is what this whole habit is about!

Did I say habit? I meant hobby didn't I?

Thanks again William. I should have explained....me badsubtlelaugh.gif. That's the only thing I don't like about the MM1000...the 22mm straps are ridiculous for the 46mm bezel, 52mm shroud and 17mm height. I think a 26mm strap would have been the best for this diver. Anyway, you are right again. The whipsnake might see more time with Steinhart NavBThumbsUp02.gif.

Thanks too, Nate.
