I have a silver Sea Angler that I want to change the strap. This is my first and only Orsa I own and I thought it would be a simple task, just unscrew the screws, swap the strap, and screw the screws and I would be done. Well, to my surprise, not that simple.

Could somebody coach me on the proper way to change the strap on a Sea Angler?? I unscrewed one of the screws,  but the other one doesn't come out, it just turns. I tried putting the screw back on and work a little from each side, but no luck. I don't want to damage anything, so I don't want to put pressure anywhere without knowing what I'm doing. I will greatly appreciate any assistance.

I have small wooden tooth pics that fit inside that I use to just push the screw through and out with. ;)

Yep, there other screw is also a post that goes all the way through to the side where you removed the other screw.

A small paperclip or 1mm screwdriver should also work.

Im guessing that you figured out that the lug screws are 2 pieces, 1 long and 1 acts like a nut?  Remove the Nut piece and then the long piece will still be in the lug and strap, use a toothpick or a pin like skip said and push it out. Work in a very contained area, cause it the nut takes off and they do, its a bitch to find and they are not magnetic. If you lose em, use a clean vacum and the empty the bag onto something clean and search.

If your using a leather strap on your angler your gonna have aligning problems as the strap head is  usually a bit thick and stubborn and aligning the lug holes with strap holes and getting the lug bolts on can be tricky at times.

Get to Home Depot or Lowes and buy yourself 1 of those Micro Screw driver kits or get onto a Website that sells watch tools and score some, having the right screwdrivers is key to not scratching the lugs.

Always try to work on a padded surface, I use a mouse pad and put the dial side down when doing straps that way If I scratch a lug its the back side not the front.

Im so careful I should of been a surgeon subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif ON MILITARY TANKS subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif

Good Luck

Wow, those were quick replies. Now it all makes sense. I just didn't want to damage anything. Thanx to all that replied.

I was wondering about a band change. Thanks for the question and all the answers. I didn't even have to ask.  Gonna make a custom leather  band for my orange SA in black.

I got some leather tools for Christmas last year and have been at it since. Getting scary good with it.

My Silver Surfer Sea Angler came with the normal strap and also a nylon strap. It looks to me like a Zulu strap, but I'm not sure.

Does anybody know which strap Orsa included with the Silver Sea Angler?? I want to buy another one for another watch, since I fell in love with it, but I want to ensure is the Zulu strap and not the Rhino or another brand.
