Im on the fence right now on ordering up a Monstrum (if they're even still available) I was curious, tho, how smooth is the second hand sweep on the Miyota movement? Compared to uhh... Seiko Monster? Or a medium grade ETA2824 movement? Any reports on accuracy yet? I love the overall look of the watch! |

Welcome to 3Thand6.gif in comparison to my Seiko Monsters I would say similar if not better ...compared to an eta not as good as some simliar to others....as in any watch the manufacturer plays into it more than movement and how much time they take to adjust the movement after installation...some manufacturers take more pride in what they deliver than others as we all know.I have eta's that the sweep is not smooth while others in my higher end watches / COSC are what should be expected...very smoothwatch2.gif Accuracy on a base Miyota or Seiko is rated by them at +/-30 sec. per day after initial break in of at least 30days of wear...my Monstrum out of the box is running at +/-12 sec. per day so I am very happy with it,but I do not buy watches with Miyotas for accuracy but rather on price, looks and value for $ spent...the Miyota is a proven workhorse as is the eta 2824 with very few problems and a long life expectancy. The Monstrum delivers exactly what I was looking for and more in the $295. price....size,comfort,looks and a sweet 5.5mm domed sapphire crystal which is unusal for a watch in this price range.Overall I am more than happy with the Monstrum as it delivers good value for the buck imhoyourock.gif Attachment: Picture 012.jpg (Downloaded 161 times) |

Thanks oagaspar, Everything I see makes me want to jump at one of these ASAP! Just have to sell off one of the watches in my quiver first, i think. For an auto movement (swiss or not), 300M rating, SAPPHIRE, and what looks to be fantastic styling, It looks like a ridiculous deal!!! I also really like the fact it comes with a signed deployment. Man, I can't believe i only found this site now... |

The second hand on the Miyota movement will not sweep as smoothly as an ETA 2824-2 because they have different beat rates - the Miyota is 21,600 and the ETA 28,800. |
