I just want to first say you have a very nice forum dedicated to a large base of watch types and manufactures. I live in Rochester, NY I have been here since 1980 when I was hired by the Eastman Kodak Company, I worked for them for 23 years and had a great career with the company working on large projects. The last project I worked on was building a film sensitizing machine in Xiamen, China where I live for close to three years. During the project I had the opportunity to travel all over the world. I spent time in Melbourne Australia, Fribourg, Switzerland, Hong Kong, then had vacation in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Bali. In 2003 I had my first series of lower back surgeries, then in 2004 I had a lower back fusion from L2 to S1, about 6 month after this surgery I was in terrible pain and they found that the screws had loosened in my tailbone from the metal rods that they put in and they had to do another surgery to remove the two rods and 10 screws. Since then I had to go on to long term disability, I was let go from the company but I am still on the companies long term disability plan and Social Security. According to my doctors I will never be able to work again, So I am fortunate to have been on LTD before I was let go collecting 70% of my pay. I am only 49 years old but I was very lucky to have such a great career that allowed me to travel all over the world ands see things that I only read abut. Prior to my surgeries I was very active. I built my own home, hunted, shot in archery leagues, played golf and bowled. Now the money that I save from not being able to do those hobbies has let me get into the hobby of collecting watches and photographing them. Since starting watch collecting I have gone through a growth period. I started with purchasing watches on TV shows and ended up with a large collection. As I progressed I have changed my mind set to quality not quantity. Since then I have sold a lot of watches. Now I enjoy the hunt for the timepiece that I want, I do the research and then look for the best deal that I can find. I have found this to be very rewarding and someday someone is going to inherit some nice timepieces. I will post photos in the photo gallery of my collection. Once again It is great that I found another forum that has a lot of information on a diverse resources of timepieces.
