I got my blue dial last week. Again, 48 hours from order to in my hands. Amazing! I was a little surprised at how tall it sat on my wrist. Despite the dimensions, it definitely wears large. It would need some patina before I would feel comfortable wearing it.

So I ordered some liver of sulfur rocks from Cool Tools along with some polishing cloths. This was the second treatment. The first time I polished nearly all the patina off and I wasn't happy with the look. This time, I just hit the high spots with the lowest grit cloth to brighten it up. The pictures make it look darker than it is. I am ecstatic with the results.

Thanks Oscar! The patina has since rubbed off some in wear spots, giving a very nice natural look. I will post some updated pictures in the future, but I am on the road for a couple weeks, and I left the Armida at home.

Did you use a silver polishing cloth to restore the watch to it's original condition?

This is one of the reasons why I enjoy owning bronze watches, it's fun to experiment and build the patina ThumbsUp02.gif

Not exactly to original. I discovered that I can polish off much of the patina, and after only a days exposure to a humid environment it comes back very dark again. So it is fun to see how it will develop day to day like this.

welcome aboard Aeromat, you can either let the watch patina all on it's own,or accelerate it using the liver of sulphur gel;;;follow the link,or type patina into the 3T search engine for plenty of posts on the subject:ThumbsUp02.gif

that is some awesome patina Aeromat!....get yourself a Cape Cod cloth, with it you can even the patina out if you like(as I did with mine below),as well as removing it all if you want to change the patina effect all over again.ThumbsUp02.gif
