I think your WIS status is safe. I think we all have, at one time or another, gotten a new watch that we're so completely enamored with at that point in time that we didn't bother with considering wearing something different. Also, it can happen with a watch you haven't worn in awhile when you pick it up and realise that there was something really special about that piece that prompted you to get it in the first place.

Here is my one-watch story: I was out of town for the entire month of June finishing a masters program at a large midwestern university. I brought two watches to wear...my Omega Seamaster for "nice", and a Luminox Navy Seal for "play". I quickly discovered that the gentleman who was in the room next to me (also in my program) didn't have a watch. I was astounded. How could you function without a watch? I don't care that you can glance at your cell phone for the time...a man without a watch is, well, about half a man in my eyes. Anyway, I offered to lend him the Luminox for the month, which he quickly accepted. I wore the Omega for a month, which I was more than happy to do. The upside was that I didn't ever need to leave the Omega in the dorm when I was at class...it was always on my wrist. And let's face it, the Seamaster can take anything that one can dish out. At the end of the month my colleague had fallen for the Luminox. I introduced him to the world of WIS and all the related websites and watches. As a parting gift I gave him the Luminox, as I'm sure many of you would have done. Anyway...one month, one watch, and it worked out very well. Of course since I gave a watch away I had to purchase a few to replace it.  Cheers, Erik

For several years now; I've been switching daily, with very few exceptions. I hadn't considered the watch "identity" question...interesting though. My grandfather wore a gold Bulova Tuning Fork daily for as long as I can remember. I remember listening to that thing humming along as a kid. I very much associate that watch with my memories of him.

Oh, I've got you beat (hangs head). I've worn the same watch for the last 4 weeks! There are reasons for this. A very significant one is that I only own five watches (it's true, it's true; I have other interests that I spend money on, as well as a wife that takes more than a passing notice of the disposition of our disposable income). The other is that I'm in NYC, and it's been hotter and humider than hell here for about a month straight and I only own one watch on a bracelet. The other four look best on leather straps, but I don't feel like ruining the straps by sweating all over them. So until the heat breaks, it's the '65 Seamaster. Not a bad piece to be "stuck" with although I imagine most people in here would consider it to be unwearably small.

Or is that just me who is a freak? No, you are not alone in your freakness. Sometimes I'm running late for work and I don't have time to pick another watch. It could easily take me upwards of 20 minutes to feed, water and love the other inhabitants of my watch case so I just keep on wearing the same piece. My wife thinks there is something wrong with me.
