Was unaware that the Bulova was bought by Citizen in 2008. They have some very beautiful watches and some that are very precise (10 sec per yr). Saw a 200 m diver at Macy's at a steal of $150 vs MSRP of $275.

I really like the Precisionist line and the quartz second hand moves smoother than any auto I've ever seen..the movement beats about 16 times a sec.....![]() Last edited on Wed Dec 29th, 2010 09:52 pm by Gregger |

Yes, Citizen owns the Bulova group including Accutron, Caravelle and Whittnauer. I have received excellent service from Accutron.

That Precisionist is a cool looking watch, but I just don't get the bezel.

Yes, the Precisionists are a little off...first of all the ones that are 200 m are not for diving. I do not think the bezels move and some have leather bands. Therefore, why make them 200 or even 300 m. Also, a diver could care less about being 20 or 10 seconds off per year. I do think they are a tad too large and the ones that are not 200 m are only 30 m...any cheapo can do that. Also the faiko diamonds on their luxo precisionists are excessive Bling IMHO. Maybe Bulova would sell a ton of watches if they would study their competition better. In the 200 m they should look at the Japanese crowds. Seiko, Orient, Citizen and Casio have some good things going. Re the Swiss and German watches...well, they have to learn something fronm them too. Cannot remember if the Precisionists are solar but if they are not ??? as Alfred E.Newman from Mad magazine said...What me worry?

I recently put my hands on one of the Ti 200m Precisionists at an AD. It is substantial in size and the sweep of the second hand is sweet but... the deal breaker for me was the domed mineral crystal that was screaming to be smacked off of a door post ![]()
